I have read a few post here and some talk about checking the squash. Why do you need to check it and can you not do it at all. I am replacing
the cylinder and piston on my ms460. I am putting a new Stihl unit so do i need to check the squash ?
is there a rim socket for 050 and 063 size chain. I have a 24" bar for my 460, but i think the
rim socket is for 050. I have looked for that size socket but they only show 3/8 or 325. can
some show me a chart that has all the size of socket.
I have a stihl ms 460 with a 42" bar on my mill. I need a new rim socket and not sure what to buy.
I have a 3/8 050 7 tooth now but i see some with 8 tooth.. Would the 8 tooth be better or just stay
with the 7 ?
I have a stihl 420 i am rebuilding . I ordered a cylinder kit and when I when I tried to mount the muffler the thread holds on the cylinder are to
close together. has any one had this trouble ? the bolts in the muffle will not line up correct
Will I guess I am getting to old to start these saws. I gave the saw to one of the workers and it started up.
Will just work on them and let them start it up. Then I can adjust the carb so they will run not to lean. Thanks
for all the help.
I received the compression gage and I checked the compression. Reads140 psi. Now with all I have done all that I haven't done is the seals and carb. Here is the gage I bought.
It still will not start, changed the coil and plug wire. Should get a new compression tester to day and see what it show's. Also
going to put a few drops of oil to see if that raise the compression. I guess next will be the seals or carb and see what that does.
