i have seen a couple people secure the tail end of there split tail of the carabiner knot with electrical tape and just leave it tied that way. just saw a pic of somw kind of thread wrapped 30 times around the ebd instead of the tape. looks alot better, what is that called and does anyone know...

scaffold vs taughtline hitch... not the same?

lol! i like the buntline also. easy to tie and tightens nice. the anchor knot doesnt seem to tighten down enough for me to trust my life on it, but ill have to try it somemore. these 3 knots seem to be the most popular to tie to a carabiner. but i can find a thread on any of these knots saying...

scaffold vs taughtline hitch... not the same?

i am looking for the best knot to tie to a carrabiner and to my harness. a few threads said scaffold knot that is also a fishermans knot. when i looked up on how to tie the knots, it seems like the scaffold knot wraps towards the bite and the fishermans wraps away from the bite. am i missing...

scaffold hitch vs fisherman, not the same?

i was looking at knots to tie into a carrabiner that attaches to me for ddrt. i like the taughtline hitch (clove hitch onto itself), but a few threads on here said the scaffold hitch is better. the thread said it is also called a fishermans knot. from some animated knot tying gifs, it seems...

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

thx fishnuts, the video is really helpful and i will double check mine against the video tomorrow. and thx for checking your turn, nice to know someone else is around the same as me. most 400 owners on here that i read about have theres between 3 1/2 and 4 after mm. but your plug looks perfect...

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

thx for reply, if my low was rich wouldnt it not start on 1 pull and hesitate when i rev it? and im at 1 1/4 on low. lastly, if i get it dialed in with the oak being that big, would it be a little rich on the smaller stuff? i guess my question is should saws be tuned in the bigger, denser wood...

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

thx, and yes, the saw is perfect size for the stuff i cut and its small enough to limb with also. i was nervous at 3, thought it maybe lean, but everyone seems to be in agreement that 3 is good. i would love to double check it with a tac, but is it worth it for $85 (for a good one)?

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

thx for reply the muffler was definately hotter. i could smell it. about echo changing something, maybe my saw being around 6 to 8 yrs old (if i had to guess) has something to do about it? had to go down 1/2 turn after mm. weird?

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

thanks for the reply 3 definately cut the best, muffler seemed alot hotter than it use to be. is that just part of the mod? i will try 2 3/4. and would it be worth it to buy a tac to make sure im not hitting rev limit? or is the sound good enough that u know? whats even more confusing is i was...

Echo cs400 L and H setting after muffler mod

that was with a brain new chain, and now that I rewatched the video, I think it cut the fastest at 3 turns, but when I pull I out of the cut, I am guessing it is hitting rev limit? let me know, thanks all
