burnt out and ready to sell out...

Scott, I was under the impression you were part-time. Perhaps scaling back to a day or two a week would keep the bug in you, and if you just take on "good" clientele, for higher prices, perhaps you would be able to keep your business and work at your other job as well.

    Outside Sales-What are you making/paying?

Cool that you are turning tons of removal work. I hope they are all necessary. We are a little different. Scientific based tree care, very small company size right now, but we handle anything that comes our way. I enjoy variety. I also want my clients trees to survive, so henceforth much...

    chemical advice

So these are the ones you were asking me about the other day, Dave. The mix you mentioned I guess you didn't find out until afterword. Certainly that could have affected the trees if mixed improperly. Remember, fertilizer, while we are on the subject, is a growth regulator. Promoting vigor...

    Outside Sales-What are you making/paying?

Side note. Matt, its good to have someone who you can trust talking to clients the way you would about trees. I'm guessing you have heard your salesman speak. But how do you go about policing what they say vs. what you would? I realize sales are good, but what if you recommended saving a tree...

    True storie's, Really?

How about this? Guy shows up on time but isn't worth two hoots when you get to the job?!? Guy that shows up 15 minutes late everyday is a stellar performer and works his butt off and is attentive and excellent at what he does...... Solution: Everyone else's start time moves up 15 minutes...

Best Mini Skid Steer for tree work

So apparently there are not shortblocks available for 24hp honda's so I indeed will be replacing it with a Kohler........but the DW dealer doesn't have a reference number for the kohlers used on the new ones??? WTF??? Why is it so hard to go out and look at one, and get me a number?

Tips on Oak trees are dying why?

I'll second the Laurel Oak. However it seems I would think it would be the Quercus laurifolia due to the leaf shape and color. If that is the case, are you noticing discoloration of the leaves from the main vein as though someone hit it with a lighter? Several possibilities for decline...

Best Mini Skid Steer for tree work

Thanks everyone for the well wishes :) @ Keith, the issue with "revving up" if you ever encounter it again, is the governor, not working like it should. If you get under a load the governor should noticeably increase throttle to keep the engine speed consistant with your load. If it doesn't...

A compilation of a couple jobs. (GoPro)

I'm sorry, but "run of the mill"? I didn't think that working SAFELY was considered "run of the mill." I just think it's smart. What you were doing, was not smart. I like to see videos of efficient, safe, smart, tree care. And although I enjoy being a critic of what's wrong with...
