What kind of telespcopic pole pruner do you recomend?

Hayauchi is great, much better than other polesaws that I've been using before. I have to add however that I work currently full time on the golfcourse, place with NO overhead powerlines...If I had to use Hayauchi somwhere near the powerline, well, I would still try to install just the head to...

It s a groundie thang, you don t wanna understand

I've got no idea what competition climbers climb with. I can only assume that they climb to win, not to spend up there half a day at best day in day out year after year. F350 super duty gonna look stupid in Monte Carlo, McLaren F1 will look the same or worse on a dirt road. And where is the...

It s a groundie thang, you don t wanna understand

good groundie is priceless, still I was ridiculed seeking oppinion about "team event" at ISA climbing championship, obviously it's for dudes wearing spandexes with all this glittering gizmos on their useless teeny-weeny harnesses. No down to earth hard working goundsmen allowed. A

    Cabling Question?

I tried to save cracked white pine with an extensive trunk decay...tree failed 6 weeks later above the stitching (14 thru 7/8 bolts ). At least I put up a fight. There was NO significant targets near this tree.

    Swedish dynamic cabling system

gefa hi, Norwayclimber and thanks for the info. looks like gefa system has many advantages over cobra...and really important ones, not only lack of this idiotic "black rubber cigar-shaped object and a little tube of soap". A

    Swedish dynamic cabling system

spectra that what they say, "spectra" and "dyneema" are the same : GEFA has a "dyneema" option (thanks again, Norwayclimber!). Treesave system has "spectra" 10/20 option and Cobra static - "dyneema". Ropes are made of "high molecular weight polyethylene", pardon my french. Lifespan of "cobra"...

    First Climb ever Today

You are not too big on safety, anything can happen up there that will require really fast descent, injury, hornets nest or hard case of diarrhea. Climbing line even when you go up with spikes comes handy, and descent is such a fun, isn't it? When it comes to your "sales tool", of course they are...

    When do you replace chains?

I sharpen chains in "an instrument attached to a workbench, with two movable jaws between which an object may be clamped so as to leave the hands free to work on it" a.k.a. a vise. Picture shows when I give up on a chain.

    When do you replace chains?

there are some really good tips posted already. I try not to go to work with one chainsaw (big no-no) or get down to one chain for a chainsaw. I run Stihl only (2 x 660, 2 x 260, 2 x 200T and 038 "brasilian wonder") File by hand in a vice, on badly damaged chains I use Stihl grinding stones on a...

    Arborist and protesters

There is something extremely disturbing in every removel of healthy, large tree, no matter how legal the removal is. Some of the trees that I've cut down will haunt me for the rest of my life.
