    "You Suck" Thread 2019--Pics required!

I still say the STX-38 was one of the best cutting little tractors Deere ever produced. Mine is 20+ years old and still runs and cuts perfect!

    "You Suck" Thread 2019--Pics required!

First Stihl saw I ever worked on was an S10 Took forever to convince the dealer parts guy it wasn't 810. They did, however, have the carb kit and other parts I needed to make it a runner!

    Craigslist laughs

Carb Guy Also, I've never seen a 2 cylinder snow thrower (he said spark plug(s)) or one with an air filter. Does he reduce the price for just one plug and no air filter?

    TS 460 Not Getting Fuel

Carb is clean as new, diaphragms look like new, fuel line and filter look new, Will run if fed through the intake, so I know it is a fuel delivery problem. Took the top cover off and filled the chamber of the carb with fuel to see if I keep it running by hand for a few seconds the carb would...

TS 460 IPL & Service Manual wanted Serial 157321431 Is fairly new but won't suck fuel into the carb, which is clean. Want to see which bushing/impulse line/check valve I need. Thanks. Kenny in CT.

    021 Re-Ring?

Turns out the rings were stuck on the intake side. Freed them up and now she has good compression and starts on the 2nd pull. Thanks to all who helped out. Kenny

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Looking for an 021 Service Manual. I've heard too many stories about rollers, etc and would like to see what I'm getting into stripping this thing down. Thanks, Kenny

    021 Re-Ring?

The first symptoms were that it wasn't starting with tons of mix flooding out of the muffler. Even ether wouldn't light it. The spark is bright, I know it's getting fuel, so I hooked up the compression gage. I also kept it full throttle with open choke to get an accurate reading. An old timer...

    021 Re-Ring?

My Makita DCS340 puts out 145 psi, and it's a well worn saw, also a 372 I had put out 140 psi, so I think my compression tester is probably ok. 85 seemed way low to me too, the rings on the 021 barely have any tension but are free in the ring grooves. Kenny

    021 Re-Ring?

Got an 021 that has low compression (85 psi) but runs great once started. I squirted some oil into the cylinder (old trick to test worn rings I was told) and after 4 or 5 pulls started up and ran and idled nice. Cylinder isn't scored, just seems like the rings have lost tension; they are not...

    New saw recommendation

Let me re-phrase. This guy is in his 70's, and probably won't drop start a saw. The 372 I used must have had a bad decompression valve because it would close on the first pull even though the engine wasn't running, resulting in a major kickback on the secxond pull. I have seen some of the...

    New saw recommendation

Older gentleman near me is looking to get a 20" bar/saw but want's something easy to start. I suggested a 372XP but remember I had a tired arm pulling that thing. Any of the major brands/specific model easier to start than another? He has Stihl, Husqvarna dealers close to him. Thanks, Kenny.

Saw Modders...take a look at this!!

Any thoughts about rebalancing the crank to allow for the drop in reciprocating mass? Will the out of balance vibration cause failure?

Need part number of coil for an EB 3.7 Mac

Found a reasonable coil kit and other parts on epay, she started on the first pull. Anyone have issues with the plastic choke actuating lever softening up? The one on this EB 3.7 is like rubber. I assume a reaction to the gas/oil mix. The owner had loosened the carb mounting screws to make...

What is the fascination all about?

I have absolutely no need for one but have 24 of them. If it's mechanical and someone says it doesn't run, I'll fix it and add it to my collection. The challenge of a non running anything is all it takes, especially when the owner says "take it, it's junk". Sometimes they get angry when they...

Need part number of coil for an EB 3.7 Mac

Model 60013302. Also an IPL would help. This thing is in nice shape with an original 20 inch bar. I bypassed the kill switch and still nothing. Thanks.

    Craftsman Poulan Carb Adapter Screws

How would lockwashers cause an air leak? Are the tapped holes in the cylinder for the adapter plate open to the cylinder? Thanks, Kenny
