    New business website questions

I've been subbing for a tree company for a couple years ago and am setting up to do some occasuonal side work that they do not offer. I'd like to get a simple website. I'm looking at GoDaddy and they seem like the process would be simple. I'm not an IT guy and I don't want to become one. Any...

    groundsman pay

People can't get good help often because they don't pay enough. $14.60 is a joke and insulting to anyone that shows up, works hard and has the capacity to learn. How would you like to work for that? Treat your people as well as you can. It will pay off.

Neighbor Cut Down a Tree on My Property

    1. He was wrong to cut your tree but it was on "his" side of your bigger fence, but he was still wrong. 2. He bought you a nicer tree. Why not just put a flag, bucket, cone or stake where you wanted it planted. 3. Insisting on a warranty seems a bit much. Sometimes we offer them but...

    New Business

I am listening to a book called "your first year in the landscaping business" by Keith Kelfas. You really need to read or listen to it. I think it would be helpful and inspiring. He basically started with less than nothing.

Adding a dump bed to trailer.

It's a small mt100 and not very heavy. I believe I can center it enough that with a large dually it won't be an issue. The only time I have felt it to be a problem was when a Co worker chained it too far back and I didn't have enough weight on the ball. It would look something like this pic.

Adding a dump bed to trailer.

I have a lightly used 23'deck over trailer that doesn't get used much. I'm considering selling it and getting a dump trailer. I also use a coworkers dump trailer to haul my mt100 in as well as debris. It is a p.i.t.a. to unload the bobcat to dump debris and the reload it. I'm wondering if a...

Log grapple vs. Material handler grapple

I am looking to add a grapple truck to our reaidential tree company this year. I was looking at the typical storm chaser set up but I somone I spoke to suggested a material handler style boom. Pros seem to be a lot more reach, possibly enough to add a saw head for medium trees and price is...

    Small volume removal log selling?

A drop off like that would be ideal. I am looking to network and hopefully find something like that.

Advice for finding low volume log buyers

We have more corn and beans than timber but we do some occasional clearing and removals. There are a few custom band mills around but nothing large. Transport isn't a problem. I just thought I'd ask for suggestions before hitting Google for mills and log buyers. Thanks.

    Small volume removal log selling?

Would you suggest selling to a mill or selling to loggers?

    Small volume removal log selling?

I also posted this in the logging forum but thought it made sense to ask this group as well. I am looking for advice on how to find small scale log buyers. My tree care company occasionally removes trees that make me wish I had my woodmizer band mill back. 99% of what remove is firewood or...

Advice for finding low volume log buyers

I am looking for advice on how to find small scale log buyers. My tree care company occasionally removes trees that make me wish I had my woodmizer band mill back. 99% of what remove is firewood or mulch but occasionally we get some real gems. I am able to transport the logs if the money is...

I have a "nyle L53 model 60Hz complete" and a L53 powered vent kit. These are the components to make a kiln excluding the chamber. I do not have the chamber. The components are unused, still boxed, never taken out, on the original skid I recieved them in and have been stored in my garage...
