    Stihl 290 or Husky 455

Thank you for the great suggestions, I plan to get the saw running again. I have only had one person look at he saw so far. I have one other person that will look at it and see what they think I should do.

    Stihl 290 or Husky 455

I would assume that anything is possible, just not sure that I want to put more money into the saw. I am looking for a 350 parts saw that I would be able to pull the cylinder and replace mine. If I can find one cheap enough it would be nice to have the 350 and 290

    Stihl 290 or Husky 455

the problem with the 350 is the mount holes for the muffler are stripped clean and the service guy said he could drill the holes out and put in a helicoil but he could not promise it would hold very well.

    Stihl 290 or Husky 455

well it appears that the overwhelming vote is for the Stihl 290 so I guess the winner has been decided and a new saw will be purchased on the way home tonight.

    Stihl 290 or Husky 455

My Husky 350 took a dump on me and I need to replace it. The question here is should I get the Stihl 290 Farm Boss or the Husqvarna 455 Rancher? I cut a grapple load of firewood a year plus cut trees for the in-laws use.

Heads Up to People in Northeast

I waited for 9 hours at Home Depot to get a generator Sunday (see kids procrastination does not pay) only for them to not show up till Monday morning. WooHoo for me!!

Heads Up to People in Northeast

I am still without power in Milford and they are saying it could be a week before it gets turned on. The real kick in the teeth is that folks across the street have power and I don't. At least I have a generator and woodstove to keep us warm and the lights on.

New Hampshires new wood boiler laws

You are right about the green wood....they are buying it now and thinking it will be dry by winter. They all have clean chimneys now but come mid winter they will be chocked full of creosote.

New Hampshires new wood boiler laws

Around here it seems that a lot of the problem is all of the people who cant afford to buy oil and gas are now turning to wood. They are buying woodstoves and OWB's and they don't know how to run them properly and they burn green wood in them and that is what tweaks the people around them...

Looking for grapple load in Southern, NH

Thanks for the information, I just called him and left a message, I just hope I am not too far away to make it cost effective. I am just shocked that I am having so much trouble finding grapple loads, I thought it would be much easier.

Looking for grapple load in Southern, NH

unfortunatly there are no city trees where I am in Milford and any tree company around here is selling cord wood but it seems none are selling grapple loads.
