    Bad neighbor!!!

Shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish, just drill some holes, from your side of the fence, and insert some red LED lights, maybe chop up a string of Christmas lights, just pair up 2 to a blinker unit!:jawdrop:

    Kombi Systems

I aint pete, but ... I got notified about a long lost thread, I have the original Kombi blower that I bought, I think last August, still going strong, here, haven't used the old backpack once, not once. I had a little trouble with my 110 powerhead, so when it in for fixin, I bought the biggest...

    Selling Black Walnut

Maybe others will have a different answer, but those trees are just too small to have a commercial value. 12 inch diameter at the base means that the log, at its biggest point is about 9 inches of heartwood. biggest board you'd get out of it is a 1" X 6", if that. If you shave it with a...

2 ~24" dia ~12' long straight Ash saw logs

ManyHobbies: are you in the emerald ash borer quarantine area? If so, it may be illegal to transport out of your local area, check with your Department of agriculture to see if you are. We don't need to transport the bug any further. What concerned me is that you said that this tree appeared...

    grinder wheel

Lancelot grinder works real good for roughing out seat bottoms, for instance. If you want to go finer, Woodcraft and Rockler sell a TC grinder disc that is way finer, for finishing. That fine one really spits out the dust, though.

    Major Craigslist and Kijiji Scam

I did a little research on this, had a cop try to track down what is going on, What it boils down to is this: The scammer is in Africa, or somewhere outside the U.S., He responds, sends you a bogus check in an envelope from Fedex or UPS, on a stolen account #. Sending the bogus check costs him...

    Types of wood for building??

Dan- simply put, some woods are not up to the rigors that certain other woods can withstand everyday for a lifetime. SPF takes a nail well, is light and strong, and relatively rot resistant. Oak is strong, heavy and when cut on quarter beautiful, Also more than 3x more expensive than pine, so...

    Woodmizer LT15 or Lumbermate 2000

Lt if advice Swanny- I have an older LT15, free advice is to set your mill up on 6X6 cants, across the mill bed, like railroad ties are under the track. That way if you bump the mill a little with the loader, it doesn't fall off the blocks. You will gradually learn the art, some things that...

    Tree I.D. help please

Reminds me of a joke... Something in this thread reminded me of a joke I saw, probably in the joke thread, A father and son woodpecker were arguing about the species of tree they were digging into. The son asks dad, is this tree a son of a beech or a son of a birch? Dad replies I think its...

    electric chain sharpner simple ?

I've used the HF grinder, its faster than by hand, but the nut that holds the wheel on tends to rattle loose, and the slot that holds the chain is sloppy, and the indexing is not up to the higher priced units, but here's the good part, if you go to a HF store, these things are sometimes on sale...

    Burls! Burls! Burls!

I have seen a lot of wild cherry burls in this area, I think a bacteria causes them. If there is one on a branch, and you cut the branch off you won't do too much damage to the tree, but for the most of what I have seen with cherry, it affects the whole trunk, so figure on taking the tree...

    Brushhogging scrub

I just got done with a couple of projects like this today. I use an ASV RC30 loader with a 4' home made bush hog mounted on the front end loader, makes quick work of brush and saplings up to 3-4". You are on the right track, keep it mowed down, will bring your excavation bill down in the...

    Bad neighbor!!!

Glad to see that the antifreeze issue is resolved, Shouldn't do it to a dog, maybe not to the owner either! We did a dog trick when were in college, shaved the dog down the center if his back, with electric clippers, Painted the stripe with one of those liquid glow sticks, sent him home about...

    OT-Lawn Tractor

Old gravely Is what you need. If you want a bullet proof gear driven mower, look at an 816 or 8163, these old cadillacs were all gear drive transmission, gear drive pto, most could have hydraulic lift, but alas there is one belt-on the deck, but at least it isn't going over lots of...

    Linden tree leaf miner

Thanks for the quick reply, right after I posted here, I googled the same relative question, found the answer is Eriophyd (sp?) or gall mites, cosmetic damage only! Thanks for the positive reinforcement, SawyerDave.

    Linden tree leaf miner

A neighbor of mine has a linden tree with something happening to the leaves, from her description, I suspect a leaf miner, similar to the one that gets into fathergilla shrubs. Does anybody have any pictures of this pest on linden trees? (The damage is that something builds horn like...

How to save dying Green Ash with dirt around base?

Good pics, from my experience, which is limited to looking at pictures from the dept of agriculture, when EAB hits, it will cause 1/2 the tree to flag (go yellow), as the EAB makes galleries under the bark, kind of in a zigzag direction. In this case, I would be more worried about root damage...
