    sick tree

Cant tell from the pics if it is blight or not but.... i would cut it back by 1/3, and then thin the remaining twigs by 1/3- focusing on dead twigs. This will allow for air and light to pass thru the plant and less leaves to have to support initially. And then give it a good drink of water...

I often asked when is the best time to do pruning? Is it Spring or Winter?

It depends on the plant and the reason for growing and reason for pruning. If its grown for the flowers, then in general, If It is spring flowering then its summer pruning; summer flowering is spring pruning. There are likely exceptions to this rule as well. There is no hard and fast rule...

Why no electric battery and cord saws?

I saw a ryobi 40volt chainsaw at home depot last week that had a 16in bar (no chain on it). I picked that thing up and it was heavier than a gas equivalent... the body seemed to be way more bulky also, probably to accommodate the ginormous battery. Im sure the 40v provides better...

    Metal wrap on dogwood

If the metal is wrapped fully around the trunk and it's left even a little but still making a full circle around, wouldn't it girdle the tree and create problems for the it in the future?

    Battery powered Recipicating saw

I've been using a reciprocating saw for years for pruning and cutting up smaller stuff. I prefer battery, but I have used electric which on the up side doesn't lose power or have the added battery weight. I was introduced to the Ugly blade close to 15 years ago from a former roommate, and of...

    Is There Strength in Numbers?

Living blocks from the beach in Washington we get some pretty crazy wind. though, trees can still be damaged when in denser groupings, irs usually the ones on the edges or are weakened in some way already that either get blown over roots n all or snapped like match sticks. Ive noticed...

30+ Year Old Indoor Tree We Inherited

Ficus can take a hard pruning rather well so that shouldn't be a problem. I can see the pot size but its prolly not too big to get out the and onto and elevator, but it may be an easier task if u can find a cart with wheels. I would also let it dry out somewhat so it wont be as heavy she...

A question about mixing fuel that will work with both a modern trimmer, and a very old chainsaw.

Although it was recommended that this be posted in the chainsaw section..... I am grateful it wasn't because I never would have seen it. I just had this come up about 2 weeks ago while borrowing a string trimmer. The borrowed one calls for 40:1 while mine wants 50:1. I did get roughly the...

    Bean sprayer question

Maybe gallons to cu ft would help you in figuring your water volume. There are 7.48051948 fluid gallons in 1 cubic foot Take measurements of the tank to get cubic footage (HxWxD)... x 7.48051948 Not sure that answers ur question.

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Sooooo...... I am trying to acquire an owner's manual for a homelite saw model # 10517B with a manufacture date of 1979.... I've searched the web and everything keeps coming up for an xl model and/or a much newer 10517/18.

Time To Buy a New Riding Mower?

I would start with blowing the grass and loose bits out from the motor area and on top of the deck. And then a dry rag to loosen the top layers of muck before adding any kind of liquid to clean. But that's just me tho. Sent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk

Time To Buy a New Riding Mower?

I just looked up the shop in my town... And boy is this odd, I swear, just a month ago, it was a Stihl retailer. Now they are Huskvarna. There was some scuttlebutt about a recent lawsuit this particular store lost about this exact sort of thing. I can't find anything to confirm or deny this tho.
