Want to Trade Want To Trade For Cordless

I have some small gas saws (026, MS200T). I assume I'll be walking with a cane, at least for a while, hence the electric. And yes probably a Husky or Stihl.

Want to Trade Want To Trade For Cordless

Thanks guys, I'm trying to avoid selling one and buying another. I think the 044 should be valuable enough to get me a good cordless setup. Packing and shipping would be difficult for me at this stage of my recovery (from traffic related injuries). If I decide to just sell I'll put it here first.

Want to Trade Want To Trade For Cordless

Due to a recent injury I think I should have a cordless saw for general maintenance around my place. I'd like to trade off a larger saw that I won't be using anymore. In the old days I would have just gone down to my local saw shop and made a deal, but my local saw shops are hardware stores now...

What are the details of the 026 upgrade kit?

    Cordless Pro Saw?

Well I decided that I'd try a MSA220 so I looked at the local dealer list for a Stihl saw shop where I could trade in a saw. I see that all the saw shops have been replaced by hardware stores, some of which don't even sell parts or do service work, I don't think any of them are likely to sell...

    Cordless Pro Saw?

Thanks, I'm way up in Spokane, I'll stop by Lowes and look at one though.

    Cordless Pro Saw?

OK you've piqued my curiousity. It looks like Home Depot is the only game in town though, and they don't stock it in the store. I guess I can check and see if they have one in their rental fleet.

    Cordless Pro Saw?

I have an MS200T and a couple of 026s that I can start, and will when I need to, but every little move I can save my shoulders from helps.

    Cordless Pro Saw?

My shoulders are shot. I want a cordless saw for thinning and pruning soft woods, 16" minimum bar length, quality tool, light and powerful. Preferably from pro shop so I can trade in a gas saw that I can't start anymore, everything I have is Stihl. I've been searching this site and others but...

    Stihl Motomix questions.

I don't know if it's still the case but when I checked Truefuel produced Motomix for Stihl (to Stihl's specifications).

    Stihl 026

Funny, as I was reading this the Mrs. walked into the room after emptying the garbage and said " I can't believe you threw out a pair of underwear".

    Stihl 044 10mm piston issues

I wonder if there's a different bearing that you're supposed to use with that piston? The piston isn't going anywhere once the cylinder is installed but it looks like the bearing could find it's way to one side or the other and possibly cause problems.

What Drive Sprocket Do I Need?

I use 7T with that setup. Can't see any reason you'd need an 8T.

    Retirement Chainsaw Gift Assistance

That would work. Is there any reason I can't use a 12mm type jug with a 10mm type piston, or is there any difference in the piston other than the wrist pin?

    Retirement Chainsaw Gift Assistance

I hadn't considered that, it might be a good answer for me and the OP. My saw is an early 10mm, would the muffler and everything match right up?

Do you know of one that bolts right on?

    Retirement Chainsaw Gift Assistance

I tried the "Rescue" handle on my 044, it didn't really help and was akward, I settled on an Easy Start handle but a decompressor would be nice. According to Stihl the 462 and 044 weigh the same. How does he feel about flippy caps?

    Stihl 034AV compression release retrofit?

I'd be surprised if a machinist couldn't fit one to your existing cylinder. It sounds like you've got some other issues that need to be addressed.

    Trusting the Sniff Test...

How do you know that now? Straight gas damage should show on the other side of the piston, what does it look like? I'm wondering what oil you use that you can smell over gas fumes.
