    conveyors

    we use a rubber belted conveyor to stack the wood from our chomper...we had a chain drive one but it sucked... it runs on electric motor... all the chips fall off before the conveyor..i just throw them in a pile in the bush Adam

    A Napolean high country can burn over 14hrs..however it has a hufe 4.8cu ft wood box..and can take 22"+ logs I have one..its great..it really pumps out the heat

    EXACTLY!!!! i know I can do 1 cord every 1:45 min..lets say 2 hrs just to be very safe... lets do a 8hr day....thats 4 cords a day..20 cords a week....with a $15,000machine i would say unless your selling alot of wood...those other machines are overkill

    Re: Chomper if you dont shove any wood over 14" in teh 14" model or 16" in the 16 model...you wont have any issues...simple as that... I have run 30 cords thru mine...and the only jams were my fault for trying to fit too big diamter logs thru... no issues dragging the logs on the ground...

    logs for chomper dont have to be green...have not cut any green logs yet wih it..all my logs have been sitting 1 year + before I cut them...no issues

    ohhh.... whats great as well.... no sharpening...and no chain oil ect....its maintanince free that way...ok you have to grease a few nipples now and then..and change the engine oil....thats about it... I have 70hours on the machine so far..

    I have a manual Chomper 14.. I have not found any 14" logs of any species that it could not shear though yet...done 30 cords on it so far..no major issues..a few hydralic leaks...and a weld I had to fix..the dual stage pump crapped out almost right away..however Rainer shipped me a new one...

    RE: ELVATOR... yeah maybe its longer than 24ft... :) re: jams...is wood splinters that get jammed into the gear sprocket at the top of the elevator that usually jams it... re: chomper.... it produces very little waste...and the design is awesome IMO...yeah a few logs come in a bit...

    hydralic shear like the chomper IMO is the only way to design a new system... I have a unit that can take 14" diamter logs...I would love to build a larger unit that can take 20"+ logs... the design is bullet proof it just has to be upscaled...

    PEAK OIL is coming.... and ethanol is a scam...brought about by the farm lobbiest... its real cost is much higher once you add in the farm subsidies...not to mention the evnvironmental issues
