    Stihl ms362c trade, good saw?

Nah I went and bought the case for it, so cost me an extra $50 but I like having a case. I usually try to run ethanol free mix in, haven’t used the can stuff but that’s what the guy who I bought it from was using. Haven’t got to cut with it yet but it started and ran fine, will hopefully get...

    Stihl ms362c trade, good saw?

So I’ve been looking to upgrade recently. Been looking to sell my stihl 270 woodboss to upgrade to something that can handle a 20+“ a little more bar to cut bowl blanks(I’m a Woodturner). The day I plan on posting my saw a guy has a 362c for sale or trade for a smaller saw plus cash. So I...

    Some of my recent millings

Been awhile since posting anything, figured I'd show some of my recent millings over the past few months. Finally got to use my 60" bar on some oak, milled some 48" cookies off of a burr oak and milled 44" wide slabs from a pin oak. The burr oak cookies I used my 60" bar for the first time...

    How much would you charge?

Yea I don't know why he contacted me since I run a chainsaw mill but he knows my wife and had seen posts she's shared of mine, def not efficient compared to a bandmill. Guess my only advantage to two of the mills around me is the cut width.

    How much would you charge?

Had someone contact me about slabbing out two red oak logs for them. Asked for a price or if I was interested in splitting the wood, which I'm not since it's red oak. They're 36" diameter and 11 and 7.5 feet long, what would you all charge to cut a tree up for someone? My main problem is only...

    Ms880 not starting

Well finally got it running thankfully. Tried gas in the cylinder, would just burn it off and stop so it wasn't getting fuel. Checked the filter then pulled out the carb and the lines had fuel in them. Went to check the carb and one side looked fine and had fuel in it but the other side...

    Ms880 not starting

So was messing around with a little more, it has a spark, just couldn't see it very well earlier I guess. Tried starting it again with no luck, checked the plug to see if it was wet and it's not, so might not be flooded, could be something else?

    Ms880 not starting

So I pulled the new plug, didn't have any gas or anything on it, figured maybe it had dried off or whatever since it's sat since last Wednesday, blew it off with air for awhile just in case. Pulled on the cord with it out a dozen or so times, put the plug back in and still nothing. Pulled the...

    Ms880 not starting

Thanks for the info, will give that a shot on Monday and hopefully it's just a rookie screw up haha.

    Ms880 not starting

Here's a video in case sounds might help, I dunno, sucks not knowing a lot about chainsaws or someone else that does haha.

    Ms880 not starting

Well it could be now, but wouldn't have been when I was trying to start it yesterday and figure the spark plug probably would have still be fine. Didn't change out the gas, used the same mix in my other saw yesterday without a problem. Of course my saw is at work and I'm heading home until...

    Ms880 not starting

Couple weeks ago I was milling some wood, didn't get far in when the small bar extending nub(not sure of the technical name) broke. So I had to get a new one which my stihl dealer decided to order the wrong part then finally got it right, only took them almost two weeks. Anyway, went to mill...

    Finally, first time milling

From what I've read you want to use dry hardwood and not 2x4's because they could stain the wood from the moisture in them I believe, maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I got a bunch of free wood off craigslist awhile ago, most was pretty crappy and didn't feel like dealing with it...

    Finally, first time milling

Looks like you all had fun, I went to mill saturday, actually had a friend with me to help which was nice. Well except for i got the logs ready to go, was making the first cut and one of the damn nuts on the cover came off yet again:angry: In doing that, the little spur drive adjustment thing...

    Finally, first time milling

I'd roll the log 90 degrees so I wouldn't have the crack in it, mainly because depending on how deep it is, could cut the slabs then go to pick them up then be screwed if the slabs just break in half.

    Finally, first time milling

You were correct, should have noticed the ambrosia marks on the end, but it looked redish I guess. There were a lot of ash logs, a lot of smaller cherry and the maple. Took awhile to pull them from the brush but have a bunch for later on, milled up the maple one, had a little rot to deal with...

    Finally, first time milling

Well if I get to cut on it today I'll post pics, can't really go by the leaves since it's throw on brush from a ton of other trees as well, either way maple or cherry I'll be happy. Of course I went out there this morning and they cut down a ton of other trees yesterday so those particular logs...

    Finally, first time milling

Went and checked the wood out this morning, some nice cherry but probably nothing bigger than 18" or so across which kind of sucks. Of course the biggest and longest log they cut, they ruined it with their loader, spilt right down the middle, still might cut on it for some nice bowl blanks.

    Finally, first time milling

Noticed at work today they cut down a decent sized cherry tree when i was leaving, hoping they left it in decent lengths and put it in the pile with the other debris. Noticed the trunk had some rot in the middle, haven't got to see the other parts of the tree, hoping to find them tomorrow in...
