The original cap was cracked on the internal portion, letting it leak out where the parts snap together (hexagon shape to round)

Found that the vent was plugged with debris and the oil cap on the 029 super was the original one and was leaking a lot of it... No more oil leak! So see you did find out it just took a while.

Looseness I'm referring to was the new oil hose being pushed up onto barb fitting( nipple)do they need a clamp?(029 super) It leaks oil everywhere except where it's supposed to!!!

Very interesting that you say it's thinner and practically runs out of saws( found county line for 5$/ gallon and had issues with saws leaking ever since) I'm going to dump out and buy a thicker/tackier oil and try it for a while... Thanks

I don't like how loose the oil line plugs onto the bottom of the fitting on the saw as it seems like it is loose enough even with a new hose that it could be leaking there... The hoses I bought were the correct ones and OEM Stihl.I can't imagine they're supposed to be any type of spring clamp on...

Is there a viscosity difference between stihl and cheaper bar oil?( more Tacky, less tacky?)

Funny both my 029 super and ms290 both leak bar oil when done using... New bar oil hoses installed but stihl leaking.( I need to revisit them and check there vents!) I know, old post but that's what happens with 2 young kids!!! Thanks fellas for your help!
