    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Hey neighbor, Whitehall, that a good lil haul for ya.. It has been hot on and off for sure. There's room, it's leaning towards the shop, it's actually at my buddy's business and he's having problems with delivery trucks not wanting to pull in because they are afraid of hitting it. I'm going to...

    Tree ID. Elm?????

I believe this is Elm but I'm not sure. I haven't had any real experience with it before so I'm asking the masses. I would also like to know how it acts on the hinge? Strong hinge? Weak hinge? I would need to steer the leaner a bit away from the building and want to be somewhat confident of...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Tech question???? I believe this is an Elm tree and I was hoping someone could confirm this for me? Also if it is an Elm how does it act on the hinge? I haven't cut any before and I would like to know if it has strong or weak hinge wood. That will help me decide the best way to get it on the...

    Axe restoration thread

Well, I finally got around to rehandling this Plumb after the handle broke when I was pounding wedges felling some trees for a friend. The head weighed 5# on the money. I went with a straight handle cuz I'd like to use it for banging wedges, as it sits now the handle is a lil under 32"s long...

    Husqvarna 540T ???

It had a 14" B&C on it and for 10$ you can upgrade to the 16", that's why I did it. I figured that was hard to beat. I can always make a change down the road and there has been a few times I would have liked the longer bar on a T saw instead of running my 357xp. I did run it in a 14-15" oak log...

    Husqvarna 540T ???

Yeah, but considering buying a used 200t it really wasn't much more by the time you add a bar and a couple chains and possibly a lil work if it's needed. I'm pleased and it's already in my hand and I don't have to wait for it or work on it. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Husqvarna 540T ???

Done shopping, the Husky dealer didn't have a 540 until maybe next week. Also went to 2 Echo dealers and no 355's. Went to 3 Stihl dealers and walked out of the last one with the 201 with a 16" bar. Went out back and cut for a few and I'm happy! Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it...

    Husqvarna 540T ???

Window shopping now. Just looked at a 201T. Heading to another dealer to look at the Husky and on the way I'll look at the echo. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Husqvarna 540T ???

I have seen them and looked at them a few times now. Just wanting some feedback like I said, I'm not a husky fan boy but I do lean towards them as I've had good luck with them. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Husqvarna 540T ???

I appreciate the feedback so far. It is helpful, one of my main concerns of the new saws is the auto tune or mtronic. We have shops that sell them but I'm not 100% confident in them being able to diagnose problems or repair them.... It's tuff to beat a carbed saw Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

    Husqvarna 540T ???

Looking to possibly purchase another T saw. I'd like a lil more cc and make my 334t my back up saw. I would like some real world advise. I'm also considering a 200t but have no experience with either saw personally. I run all Husqvarnas currently. Let's here some opinions... Thanks Sent...

Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

Thanks, I'm pumped it's gonna be so much easier not dodging stumps and having to wade through random log piles! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

I finally reworked the wood lot. The messy pic is from a few years ago. I took down seven more trees last week on top of about 12-15 previously and ground all the stumps. Now I can back my trailer in, dump the logs then stack in the pile. I have the log pile running north and south and sitting...

    Husky 288XP

If it's in good shape and a good runner I'd pick it up. That's a fair price if it's decent. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
