    Want to Sell Husqvarna 576XPW

    Bump. Saw is still available

    576xp won't start, bad coil?

I would look for air leaks and loose fuel lines before throwing a coil at it. It sounds like you are on the right track.

    576xp won't start, bad coil?

Is your gap set right? you said you did crank seals so I assume the flywheel came off at some point. It may have too much or too little gap between the coil and the flywheel.

    Want to Sell Husqvarna 576XPW

For sale, $450 shipped PHO to the lower 48 or $400 local pickup. One of the clips to hold the top cover on is busted and the clutch cover has been shaved for chip clearance. No other issues with the saw. Underside isnt chewed up either. Starts and runs strong with good compression. Its a good...

Anchor seal vs titebond for end sealing?

If and when you use that oak for knife handles, be prepared for a lot of filling. The open pores in oak and woods like walnut make it slow to finish compared to maple or cherry. But, still, that is some pretty wood! Ive made a steady extra few bucks milling burls over the last year. Cherry seems...

    Dont be this guy

It wont flow that way forever. As homeowners become more and more internet savvy, due diligence will be easier. By the time you account for cleanup costs (especially if you have to hire someone else after) the better crews are the same price, or cheaper. The pendulum may swing the other way soon...

    Dont be this guy

Don't compete on price and emphasize quality. A lot of those guys don't clean up too well afterwords and leave lots of yard damage. No point in competing for the cut-rate market in a race to the bottom. Nobody wins and everybody loses.

Anchor seal vs titebond for end sealing?

Anchor seal is like $30-$35 if you buy it by the gallon. I seal the whole board if I have really figured wood like what is shown in the OP typically. It helps as I hate filling checks in the final product.

Any chance my trees have value?

You have firewood. CT has no low grade or pulp market worth speaking of. The cost of removal will outweigh the cost of value. Your poplars are not worth anything and the rest have mediocre form and are on the small side of saw logs.

Rig it down. Falling is always higher risk.

    stihl chain

Out of the box it doesn't have the best grind honestly, too little hook. If I file it the same as Stihl, it lasts just as long for 1/2 the price.

    stihl chain

Ive been blown away at how insanely tough Carlton chain is, I think it beats Stihl every day of the week and twice on Sundays for cost vs performance. I have cut through multiple 1/16th nails in once cut and the Carlton semi chisel was still throwing chips.

    Tree Monkey 661 - 60" Bar

You do, but the longer bars are harder on the saws. And you also run in a jig, if you set a mill up and run it the way it gets done makes a lot more sense.

    Narrow kerf, big saw?

3/8ths is narrow kerf compared to .404.

    Husqvarna rubber logger boots

I have a Viking set that are almost the same. I will only wear if I KNOW I am going to be in mud. They are heavy, hot and don't flex in the soles as you walk. When you need them, they are awesome though.

    New Homeowner Looking for Chainsaw

They do not honor it well and often blame the owner. But, chainsaws are very reliable on the whole and if they do have manufacturing issues blow up in the first 10 hours. The Echo saws are still a good buy. All the companies hate honoring warranties. I have used echo blowers, weed whackers, and...

    Sportfury's DCS6401 Build

He knows his saws pretty well. He is right about a lot of things, it makes sense why the saws run the way they do when it is broken down like that. The Stihl seems to have the most modern strato design, it reminds me of a 576xp in a lot of ways.
