Echo Chainsaws Carb Adjustments for Altitude

Talking about that. I would like to try and get a hold of FSMs for both of these saws. But anyway, thanks. That's what I figured with he altitude... that they would be running rich. I'm about to order a 20 inch bar and chain for my CS-620PW because I'm done with the large tree felling for now...

Echo Chainsaws Carb Adjustments for Altitude

I mean, in terms of tuning the 2511T, based on sound I can tell if it's "4-stroking" or not... which should tell me if it's rich or not. So I could easily do a test with it warm. I can feel for throttle response in comparison to my experience and to my other saws (the get a feel for the low...

Echo Chainsaws Carb Adjustments for Altitude

^^^ That's a great idea. Thanks. I've ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045L9GA0/?coliid=I19RXD5MVQTEHO&colid=PCR1AB8SWZV0&psc=1 - This is a good option for a tach, right?

Echo Chainsaws Carb Adjustments for Altitude

Hi all, I have an Echo CS-620PW that I have been running for about a year. I live at about 5500FT above sea level. I never adjusted the carb for the altitude. I just pulled it out of the box and ran it. I just bought a CS-2511T and I’d like to be a bit more proactive about this one even before I...

    Sharpening Gauge for S62 71-3619

Ah, got it. So .025" is the difference between the higher of the cutter and the rakers?

    Sharpening Gauge for S62 71-3619

^^^ Well, I wasn't so much asking about the file itself. I was asking about the gauge. As, are their various different depth gauges, or does this one gauge have all the different depth integrated into it, like along it's length or something?

    Sharpening Gauge for S62 71-3619

Hi, I have an old Craftsman saw that uses S62 71-3619 18 inch chains. I recently picked up the right files to sharpen these chains but I left the store and forgot to buy the gauge to file down the rakers. I've been searching all over the place and found, for example, this...

Breaking In a New Echo CS-620PW Chain Saw

Alright, sounds good to me. I'll test 40:1 in my genny and my other saw too to see how those run. If I could have them all run the same mix it would be a lot more convenient.

Breaking In a New Echo CS-620PW Chain Saw

I've been seeing more and more posts about using 40:1 instead of 50:1. I've been using 50:1 in my little generator because that's what it calls for... and been using the same mix in my old Craftsman saw. What makes 40:1 better?

Breaking In a New Echo CS-620PW Chain Saw

I just bought a new Echo CS-620PW. My old Craftsman saw is about 30 years old and it still runs fine. Just needed a bigger saw. I bought it at a dealer and before leaving he added some fuel and oil and started it just as a demo. Im interested in hearing your thoughts about breaking in a new...

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Ok, as I understand it, what I want is 3/8" chain. From what I've been reading. That said, I'm not sure I understand the benefit of 72 drive links vs 70.

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Ok, not buying it from HD. I got a quote from a dealer, and their regular price is much better than HD's. To top that off, their ECHO 20% off day is coming up in a week and they are about 20 minutes from where I live. So, that's going to be it! Additionally, through HD's site I can only order...

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

I really think you guys have made my mind up for me to go for the 620pw.

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Haha. Understood. HD is not really going to put the attention a dealer will. I'm just looking to buy it from HD because I need it yesterday and I'll use 6 months free financing. That said, I'll compare prices with local dealers and consider buying it cash. Could be better even and save some...

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

I'll check it out when I'm at home and report back. I don't even know. I do remember me cutting branches off a mango tree in Puerto Rico with it back when I was only 15.

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Looks like I can't go wrong with either, though the 620 got more votes. I like the Makita name. I also like that it's made by Dolmar. The 620 does have a more support thanks to HD... and the longer warranty... but then again, the Makita shops are nearby anyway. I'll think it through one more...

Makita EA6100PR or Echo CS 620PW Chainsaw?

Hi, I'm about to buy a second chainsaw and I'm torn between the Makita EA6100PR and the Echo CS 620PW with the wrap handle. Both are similarly priced and seem somewhat close in spec. Both are carried by Home Depot if I order online. The Makita has a 1 year warranty and I do have service shops...

    Echo cs-800p wrap handle?

Ohhhh. I just looked up images online of the wrap handle. I think I see. It allows one to more easily hold the saw at 90 degrees to the tree.

    Echo cs-800p wrap handle?

What is a wrap handle anyway? I'm looking to buy either a CS-620P or CS-620PW and the only difference is that the CS-620PW has a wrap handle and it doesn't fit the ECHO orange plastic case because of it. I'm wondering what's the benefit of the wrap handle and why would I want it.
