    Home advisor

I still get the calls all of the time too. I’m in Florida and it’s funny because I get them during hurricane season. They’ll say they have more customers than tree companies. Duh, because work is everywhere during a storm. They seem eager to sell which is a red flag for me. If there was as...

    Home advisor

I have t used HomeAdvisor but it was tempting a few times. I do use Thumbtack though. I’ve heard HomeAdvisor markets your name on the internet, directs customers searching for your company to the HomeAdvisor site and then bills you for it. I’m a small solo business like you. Problem I found is...

Small residential tree work set up

Congrats on starting. I started 2 years ago with no experience, equipment or much knowledge. I slowly acquired equipment and a dual axle utility trailer. I drool every time I see a dump trailer at the dump. Then I go home and count the cash I have because I didn’t spend it on a dump trailer...

    Ms193t keeps dying

I know that they checked the engine before I left originally. I’ve bought all of my equipment from them. They fire them up every time. It always bothers me because I want to be the first one to fire it up as stupid as it sounds. Also, they put just enough gas in it to fire it up which also...

    Ms193t keeps dying

I brought it in to the dealer. They adjusted the carb and said it should run perfect now. We’ll see I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ms193t keeps dying

Good point about the temperature. I’m in Florida and 90 degree temperatures are our cold fronts... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ms193t keeps dying

I just bought a new 193T about a week and a half ago and I’m having the same issue. I was trimming my roubalini palms (overkill, I know but I really wanted to use it) and every time I let off the throttle, it died. Did the same thing with bigger palm fronds too. Best size saws to start business

I started with a Stihl MS291 and a pole saw. Since then, I added an MS362. Next is likely an MS193. Good luck and have fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Home Depot Rental Chainsaw for Sale - Should I?

I’d stay away. Rentals are usually beat to death by inexperienced users. Plenty of Stihl’s you can get brand new for what you’re going to pay plus repairs. Just my thoughts. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I ask for a discount?

Nah, wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s my 3rd brand new saw from that dealer in a year and a half. The 193 will be my 4th. Somebody mentioned that they get usually get a free chain with their purchase. I joked that I didn’t even get a full tank of gas, just enough to fire it up. Sent from my...

Should I ask for a discount?

I guess I shouldn’t expect somebody to read the original post either. Nobody expected anybody to hand out merchandise. Just asked if it was worth asking for a discount if I purchased 2 new saws at the same time. No incentive to buy 2 at once so I’ll wait. I’ve heard other stories of oil mix, bar...

Should I ask for a discount?

Too late. Used it today, though. Ran like a champ. As it should since it’s brand spankin new. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I ask for a discount?

That’s nice. I didn’t even get a full tank of gas. They put about a 1/4 in, just enough to fire it up. No hat, T-shirt or chain. Actually, I bought a spare chain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I ask for a discount?

Update: Bought the new HT133 today. No discount or anything as a matter of fact. Hoping it works out good. Reviews on this new model are mixed and not your ideal Stihl reviews. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I ask for a discount?

Went in today and inquired, was politely told they can’t go below the sale price which is the price it’s been for “years” he previously said. Oh well. Still buying it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should I ask for a discount?

I operate a small tree service on the side. I have a MS291 and MS362cm, both bought brand new from the same dealer in the last 2 years. Now, I’m looking to buy a HT133 pole saw and a MS193t (over $1,000 total). If I buy both at the same time from the same dealer I bought my other saws from...

    Starting my own tree business

I started on my own with absolutely no knowledge / experience during hurricane season 2016. I had no equipment either. I’ve learned as I’ve gone. At first, I did nothing remotely close to being hazardous. I only did cleanup stuff on the ground. Slowly I did more and more. I still don’t “climb”...

    My beginner's climbing stuffs...

No worries. I think it’s more of a law enforcement / military use rope. From what I read, it’s used for fast roping scenarios which makes sense considering the 7% stretch. I think that’s to allow for a fast descent and quick stopping. Who knows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
