    372xp

Is the chain stopping because the clutch is slipping? Or is the saw bogging down because of not enough fuel?

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

The drill bit I used was a 1.24mm bit beltsanded down to reduce the diameter to around 1.18mm. I knew I'd never find the right drill bit, so I made my own, being the cheapskate I am, lol.

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

Hi everyone. An update that seems to have solved the lean running H fixed jet. I figured out that the H jet has a nozzle that is around 1.12mm inside diameter at the tightest part. I tried drilling a 1.14mm hole, which made no real difference. So my final drill size that I used was 1.18mm, and...

    Jonsered 2171 Flywheel

I would rotate the flywheel towards the counter-clockwise direction before tightening the nut. That way you will have the timing slightly advanced.

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I may try to drill the H jet a wee tiny bit and see, and hope I don't wreck it.

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

If I drilled it the next size up, do you think I would be able to use the Low screw to fine tune it? I imagine a H screw installed would make it a lot more tuneable.

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

Anyone who's drilled out the high jet, could you please share your results? Thanks.

3120XP runs lean after 272XP coil swap (problem resolved with a 1.18mm drill bit)

This saws carb has a fixed high jet, and after the coil swap, wide open throttle rpms reach over 13,000. Even with the low backed out to 3 1/4 turns, the rpms are scaring me at 13,100. Does the high jet need to be drilled out to a larger size? Or is there another solution to getting more fuel...

Husqvarna 365sp cant get running lots of kickback when pulling

Those flywheels have a molded key that is part of the flywheel. You may be able to re-use that flywheel if you can position it to the original spot and tighten down the nut. The nut should hold it in position once it's tightened down.

Husqvarna 365sp cant get running lots of kickback when pulling

Are there limiters on the carb jets? Also, if you adjusted them to the extreme, it may be getting too much fuel to run well. Maybe try setting to the recommended initial factory settings (H 3/4, L 1 1/2)

Husqvarna 365sp cant get running lots of kickback when pulling

Maybe you don't know this, but a pressure/vacuum test sometimes needs to be done on the crankcase of a 2-stroke. If there is any leakage, you will not be able to get enough of a pulse to operate the carb fuel pump to supply sufficient fuel. You can also apply a vacuum to the fuel line to test it...

    348xp cylinder

I would suggest developing a good relationship with a local dealer. You might be able to get one for less than the factory suggested list price. Or you could order online somewhere and possibly pay some shipping etc. on top of the price.

Husqvarna 365sp cant get running lots of kickback when pulling

I think it could be flooded now. I would try it without choke but give it full throttle and keep pulling till it unfloods. Another way to unflood it is to take out the plug and hold the saw upside down and pull it over a few times to drain the crank case, then make sure the plug is dry before...

    357XP with 24” bar?

I use a 24" .325 pitch full comp on one of my 357xp's. It pulls it no problem, so I think 3/8 skip should be easier likely.

    372xp Squish

Most base gaskets measure around .020" thick, so that would leave you with around .019" squish, so to be on the safe side, you could use a thin beer can gasket, or just measure the squish very carefully to make sure you are at around .020-25" if just using a sealer.

Determining the model year of Jonsereds 621

Cold air is more dense, so you may need to open up the low jet a wee bit. Basic saw maintenance that I do is clean out the bar groove regularly and oiler hole in the bar, occasionally dress the bar rails, and clean the air filter. Also you can check that the fuel lines aren't cracked or hard...

Cleaning pitch & Sap From Saw Chains?

As a woodworker I used to have to clean the gum off my table saw blades after cutting a lot of ash. I tried wd40, alcohol, gas, etc., when I was told by a saw sharpener to just soak in water overnight. I found that water loosened it up as well as anything else given the overnight soak time.

Cleaning pitch & Sap From Saw Chains?

Although I've never cut Pecan, I've gummed up chains like that cutting dead Ash. All I did was touch up the chain with a file, and clean out the bar groove and oiler hole and then run the chain long enough to coat the chain with bar oil. Then the chain seems to clean up by itself the next time I...
