    044 rebuild

I had the same problem with the aftermarket tank/handle assembly and control switch. I ended up pulling the AM vent, scrubbing it up real good with some cleaner, then replacing it. Seems to solve the problem it had when it would die after a long cut or some revs in cold weather. Although I...

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

She's a young black/ticked German Shorthaired Pointer. She's about 7 months old in that pic and around 10 months old now. I have another shorthair who's dad is her granddad. I do love the Great Danes though! I grew up bird hunting and my dad raised shorthairs with my mom back in college...

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

It was oiling too much while running... I mean it was really flinging it all over and when I turned it off the bar looked like I dipped it in a vat of oil. Well maybe not THAT dramatic, but it looked wet and had debris stuck all over it. My Stihl doesn't do that, just trickles it out at the...

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

The oiler seal/housing looked burnt, and the saw oiled way too much. Is this likely the culprit? Replace oiler/housing? Cheers

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

Good advice about the plastics. My wife claimed the minty looking 55 as the one she will use, so I guess it will stay looking good for a long time. She even cut some stuff with it yesterday, but stopped after she saw she got oil on her clothes. I made this video earlier this year, and I'm...

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

I was thinking shipping costs to AK were a lot. I work in health care as my full time job and I only have 4 pairs of scrubs if it matters. I also hunt and only have 4 shotguns. I'm just currently obsessed with something new that I didn't think could be fun at all, but its turning out to be.

You also live in Alaska. I've spent a total of $520 acquiring my saws, all six of them not counting bars, chains, maintenance items. Its just fun to get a deal, tinker around with them, and make doing work around the house seem more like a hobby than a job. Here's a better question, how many...

LoLz says the man with 14+ saws. If I viewed them like I do cars I would tell myself you can only drive one at a time. Maybe time to start buying old cars instead. Thats good mind-sex(logic) to use on the wife when you wanna spend that extra $50 on a saw.

As only a homeowner, is this the end? (Pic heavy)

So I began my journey after buying our first house on a large wooded lot. I mostly ignored the woods for the first few years not really knowing where to start. Trees were(and still are) down everywhere, and the problem seemed to only compound every winter and storm that came along. A huge oak...

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

I need a Husqvarna 55 non-rancher shop manual. If that's not available I'll take any Husqvarna 55 manual. I also need a Stihl 044 manual. Thanks guys!

Want to Buy WTB Husqvarna 55 OEM muffler used or new

Man Brett, I'm glad you're getting caught up and feeling better. Also, congrats on the sale of the 254xp. I bought this from a young guy out in Stockbridge, MI. He said it was his grandpa's favorite saw, but it was getting hard to start and leaked gas. After a clean up I discovered the fuel...

Thanks Tebo. Your saw lineup is quite impressive man. You could hire a crew of 5 and do some serious work.

Sold Found Stihl 044, Thanks A/S

Man saws are just plain expensive! That being said, I think I've got what I need... I found a not too bad on the eyes stock/oem P&C Stihl 044 for $350. Working on getting a new bar and chain now. I'm leaning toward a 24-25" unless you all think I'd be just fine with only a 20". I guess at...

Sold Found Stihl 044, Thanks A/S

I'd gladly pay for a helping hand if you or anyone else wanted to stop by anytime. I have plenty work to get done out there. I sent @chipper1 a message about the 044. What about a 272xp w/ base gasket delete? Would those handle 30" base diameter?

c My current saws if anyone wants to incorporate a trade lol. They all run though, pretty yellow mac prob has less than 5 hours of use. My grandpa bought it new. Also a picture of the size project I'm dealing with. I put my beer on the tree in the snow for reference of size. What do you...
