Stihl MS250 Conversion to Easy Start

I've changed them both ways, to Easy Start and from Easy Start to conventional. Just need the starter assembly, flywheel, and handlebar. I usually don't mess with the ignition. Learning how to use the Easy Start is most people's problem.

Echo CS-352 - How to remove / replace / tighten Intake Boot

I know this post is 5 years old but I've run into the same thing with a neighbor's CS352. I performed a pressure test on it and it wouldn't pump up at all. I hooked up my pressure hose to the impulse hole and blew into it and it wouldn't hold pressure at all. I'll check it again tomorrow...

    Can barely pull starter rope

My ms250 had a bunch of fuel in the crank case so I turned it upside down with the sparkplug out overnight and drained it. It turned over easier but by no means easy. I finally got it started and ran it for a few minutes and shut it off; tried to start it the next day and it wouldn't start.

    Question I picked up a ms250

I'm not sold on the MS250. I've had three of them around here this month and couldn't get any of them to start right. I bought some new gas and am going to try that next. Also, there's no need for an engine that small to be so hard to pull over. Stihl really should have redesigned their...

    What's on your bench

You know, I take it back about the fresh fuel. I think I may have put in some fuel that should have been used in my Lawn Boy mowers. I'll go out tomorrow and mix up some fresh fuel and see if that makes a difference. Other than that I can't imagine why these saws don't start, especially the...

    What's on your bench

On my bench are two really stubborn MS250 chainsaws, both have new engines (put them in myself), new carburetors, fresh fuel mixed about 40:1 and I can't get either saw to run right. I started one yesterday and let it run for quite a while and decided it might be okay; went out today and...

    Stihl 034 serial number

Crank bearings kind of a pain to install; putting a pair on an 025 tomorrow.

    Stihl 034 serial number

By the time I get a saw it has parts on it from several years.

How was I supposed to know that?

I know I complain a lot about dirty chainsaws but I rebuild them for people and spend more time cleaning than I do rebuilding. Some of the time I think that the amount of dirt on them was the main thing that caused them to need rebuilt.

Need some help with an 026 Pro

Yeah, I don't think that's the right carb for that saw. It shouldn't leak anyway unless you left the spring out of the lever assy. or you put the short needle in it when the long one was specified.

How was I supposed to know that?

Also, most people around here don't know that it doesn't hurt to clean a saw once in a while..

    Husky pro saws on sale

When I was 14 I could pull over a saw much better than at my current age (80).

Don’t Write Off Your MS250 with a Zama Carb

I don't even think mine were real Zama carbs but Zama knock offs. I just installed them because they were about the same price as a rebuild kit and less work. I haven't had any complaints yet.

    I did a thing!

Check to see if your chain and bar are the same gauge. If it is not sometimes it will tighten up when it warms up and your engine will have trouble turning it. It's hard to tell by looking, you usually have to measure unless it is printed on the bar.

Don’t Write Off Your MS250 with a Zama Carb

I hadn't noticed a leak in any of the Zamas I've installed but then again they were new.

    I did a thing!

On a lot of saws that I have the muffler removed I just insert a wooden handle from a small wire brush into the exhaust port. Works very well as a piston stop and doesn't harm the piston or cylinder.

Homelite tuing help maybe idles bogs dies

Okay. I'd just never seen them that cheap, fully assembled. The little round piece I can make myself but the ring would be hard to fabricate. Sometimes I just replace the Homelite stock carbs with a Tillotson or a Zama.

Homelite tuing help maybe idles bogs dies

I think you misunderstood, the kits aren't expensive. On the HDC family of carbs they have a little brass circle shaped ring with a screen over it; under it is a little disc which operates as a one way valve, it's sold as a one piece unit for around $20. The valve is not included in the normal...

    Echo 330t carb question

I don't have any complaints about my 330T. It does all that I need and not a moment's trouble..

    What's on your bench

Next victim is an MS360 which looks like it was run hard and maintained little. I don't know how people get so much dirt on their saws; not sawdust with bar oil on it but dirt like is in your garden! This thing looks to have about a 2 1/2 foot bar and dull chain on it which is probably why...
