    "You Suck" Thread 2016--Pics required!

Maybe not quite a "You suck", but I'm closing a deal on a running 361 for 225 right now. Going to slap a 16" on it, and partner it up with one of my bigger saws.

Avoided felling injury with pure luck - how to avoid in the future?

Good advice, thank you! It had splits higher on the tree, I should have taken that as a sign that they extended down further. Definitely a learning experience.

Avoided felling injury with pure luck - how to avoid in the future?

I had something similar happen to me yesterday. There was a pretty hard leaning mulberry hanging over a fence, but it had several big branches to counterweight the lean. I figured they would make enough difference that I could pull it over with a come along, so I rigged it up and cut my notch...

    I can't hand file a chain!

I've been cutting for a little over a year now, and I just CANNOT hand file a chain right! Lately I've been free handing my chains, and they are VERY sharp, but the top plates are getting too long on the left side, and they're chipping! I've been filing at 25°, and matching my file to the...

New Saw - First Time Modding!

If you have a tach, idle should be around 3000. If the saw doesn't die, and your throttle response is good, you're fine.

looking for firewood saw and trail clearing saw

This forum is the reason I have two 90cc saws, when realisticly I'd be fine with a 70... The more you read the more you overthink things. You want at least two saws for sure, for backup and in case you get pinched real bad. Two saw plan also works for your intended usage- Big saw for firewood...

Who Uses A Come Along Winch To Make Of Tree Felling Location?

I don't think it's an authentic Masdaam, but it's the same design. The landowner I'm working with has a row of good sized cottonwoods with a slight side lean toward an irrigation pump of some sort. Hopefully it's enough, I'm not trying to completely redirect the tree.

Who Uses A Come Along Winch To Make Of Tree Felling Location?

I actually just purchased one of those continuous rope come-alongs from wesspur last night. I plan to pull over back learners and widowmakers with it, looks real handy.

looking for firewood saw and trail clearing saw

What about a used 361? 60cc is a good "one size fits most" displacement, but I can't personally recommend the 362cm. We ran them in the corps and had nothing but trouble with the mtronic system. The mtronic 261 we had ran fine, but I found it to be a little small for my taste.

    Climbing gear essentials

Aside from those items, do you think this kit is pretty complete? I might give Wesspur a call and see if I can swap out the saddle for something with better padding. Thanks for the help, have a good night!

    Correct my sharpening!

13/64 file and free-handing appears to have solved the issue, thanks guys!

    Climbing gear essentials

This is the one I was looking at, pretty similar, just a few more items. http://www.wesspur.com/climbing-kits/entry-level-combo-tree-climbing-kit.html How much do you think a reasonable budget would be?

    Climbing gear essentials

I'd like to start climbing, but I'm not really sure where to start gearwise. Would it be better/cheaper to piece together my own gear, or to just buy something like the Entry level spur and rope kit from Wesspur? Any good resources to look at? It's going to be recreational for now, but I...

Wow, that sucks. If I didn't already have two 90cc saws, I would grab that 394 in a second. I hear they're mean, great for milling. GLWS!
