    If the height of your trees scare you and you're not afraid to spend money then have them removed and replaced with species that doesn't mature at a height that you will be concerned about later on, no sense spending money every 3 to 5 years on something that will eventually need removed...

    that's how I was taught, I'm 6' 1" tall and have a 6' arm span so when I would pull climbing lines off the spoil I would just pull an arms span off 20 times to get 120'

    do I top trees, hell yeah if it's pays the bills. If you walked in your barber's shop and asked for a buzz cut and he said "nope, sorry can't do it because it isn't right for your head" you'd go to the next guy and so on until you got what you asked for and that's what your client will do so...
