    How many modded/ported saws

No one is bent out of shape. I just answered the question and gave my reason for it. It would be a boring forum is people just answered with a yes, no, or number without giving any other details.

    How many modded/ported saws

To me a chain saw is a tool I pick up off the shelf in the garage to do some work with, nothing more, nothing less. As long as it starts easily and the chain is sharp I am happy. Knock yourself out if that's what you like.

    How many modded/ported saws

Never owned or used a ported saw. Have no interest in porting.

    Echo 490

Have not started this saw in a year. Today pulled the choke out and on second pull she coughed. Pushed the choke back in. Next pull it fired up and ran a tank thru it while we cleaned up some log piles. I love this saw.

New Advice: Fill Tank With Pricey Premix Before Storage?

I had issues with the red Stabilizer. Once used it in a ATV. About 4 months later the ATV wouldn't start and I noticed a red powder residue in the gas tank. Emptied the tank and added fresh gas, drained the carb, sprayed it with ether and all was well. I wouldn't use Stabilizer if you paid me...

The Impact Of An Impact Driver

About the only thing I use my compressor for anymore is to add air to my vehicle tires. Recently I picked up a Milwaukee 2767-20 1/2 inch impact gun. This thing has 1400 ft pounds of nut busting torque and 1,000 tightening. Am so impressed decided to order the mid torque model and then picked up...

    Opinion on battery saws

The Echo 58 will never replace my other saws. Its greatest feature is convenience. Burning brush, grab it to cut some small logs. Big tree branch falls onto the road, grab it and press the button and cut it up. Last month noticed half a tree fell over the road to my neighbors house. He was told...

    What's on your "Wish" list

    Opinion on battery saws

Love my Echo 58V. It is my go to saw on the property for taking care of jobs lasting up to 30 minutes. By then both the battery and me need to be recharged.

Damage to saw by starting up and not using

Why would you need to let it idle to get the parts lubricated if the oil if the oil is mixed in with the gas?

    I can't hand file a chain!

Same for me. The electric does a fantastic job. By the time I dull two chains am to bushed to continue anyhow. No veering off course and I can sharpen a chain in 5-10 minutes taking off just enough. Perfect. I get the same amount of satisfaction doing it with a machine as I do by hand. Only...

    New Echo saws everywhere

I just checked CL here. Nothing unusual concerning Echo saws for sale, new or used.

What do you take to the woods?

If I have some trimming to do or cut up something that fell on the driveway usually grab my Echo battery saw. If I anticipate cutting up to 15 inch logs grab the Echo 490. When I am clearing windblown oaks that are big I'll carry two. The Echo 490 and my Stihl 440 with 25 inch bar. In a couple...

    Carving a bowl from a oak log/stump

I have all the oak stump/oak pieces I could ever need. Some are as large as 30 inch in diameter. I been thinking about getting a small curved ax or using my die grinder and making some large bowls. They will be rough cut both inside and out. Something large enough to hold bread or fruit and...

Redback 18", 120V Lithium, Cordless (Battery) Chainsaw

My Echo continues to work well and it is the first thing I grab for easy jobs. It seems to do its best with wood up to 6 inches in diameter. On occasion I will squeeze the trigger and nothing happens but then another squeeze and it starts to work.

    Best wedge for oak

Finally got around to bucking some white oak trees a tornado blew over May 2017. Have about 12 pieces that are about 22-24 inches in diameter. To big for me to get on the splitter. Hate to see them go to waste so thinking about splitting them in half with a pair of wedges then splitting them...

What's your favorite firewood scrounging saw

If I need to do some clean up along the road and the wood isnt to big I'll grab my Echo battery saw. When we head out to remove wind blown trees I grab my Echo 490 and Stihl 441. Neither leave the workshop until I get both started cold.

    60 cc King

I can't vote as I never used any of the saws listed. The only way to make this is a viable pool is to insure anyone who votes has saw time with all the saws listed otherwise its a waste of time.
