Are the clone saws good enough for milling?

Honestly I would buy a trailer big enough to haul the logs and find a saw mill with a kiln if you seriously want to use those logs. I cut down loads of logs at my friends property and it was surprisingly cheap to have some really nice lumber made. The saw mill owner knocked off some money for...

Newbie and looking to buy a 50-60cc saw (no brand loyalty, just looking for the best banger for the buck).

I have to disagree with you on the this. I have a Makita 4200 and that saw is what I grab most times as my mid saw. I leave my 346 and 2152 at home in favor of that saw. I know once it's done its done but I'll run till then. My 6100 is another story. I was never happy with the stingy oiler on...

Newbie and looking to buy a 50-60cc saw (no brand loyalty, just looking for the best banger for the buck).

As far as gas goes I've had no problem with ethanol gas. I treat mine with Star Tron . That was recomended to me years ago from my Jonsered dealer when I bought a new saw and back pack blower from them. Never had a problem. But I also pretty much buy the amount Of gas I'm going to use and when...

Old abandoned Poulan Wild Thing. Should I fix it?

I have the Jonsered 2238 and a McColluch CS340 which I believe are the same family of saws. The McColluch was a dumpster dive find that threw the chain so the owner pitched it. T he J-Red was a Tractor Supply managers special. The J-Red had a Managers special tag that said customer return. Bad...

    Finding a Clutch for a Ryobi RY10532 40cc 18” Chainsaw

Try Sears and see if they would have those parts available for the Craftsman Professional 40cc. I loked at mine and don't see a Sears number. The tag says engine family 8HQZS.0404FG

Are the Earthquake clutch covers the same as the Blue Max. I need a chain adjuster.

Want to Buy Red Max Craftsman GZ 400/ 4000 chain adjuster

Looking for the chain adjuster for a Craftsman 40cc Professional chainsaw. It's the same saw as the Red Max GZ 4000/400 saw. Or if even someone can guide me to one of those Chinese knock off saws with the same side cover. The Craftsman saw currently has one of those Intenz bars on it that...

    Axe restoration thread

I came across a knot clipper that some Neanderthal tried cutting a chain with. It has a tip cracked off. I'm still going to redo it. The handle is split. I never really checked it out until I needed to chop roots out of a ditch I was digging and realized how well it cut. They made Mann in...

    Flexible Stainless Steel Liner

Funny that you say this but when I had my chimney built. My masons insurance had more rigid clearance standards than my insurance company did. Glad I didn't put the hole through the block till he got there. I had dug the hole outside and put in the footer.

Echo 620pw or the new 7310???

Check the oiler holes on your bar. I bought a new Dolmar once that when the bar was turned over it wasn't oiling. Turned out the oiler hole was painted shut at the factory.

No luck on that. Are parts still available for Efco? I've been on the saw sideline for a while and have not kept up on Efco.

    Want to Sell Olympyk 284F

Four Paws bought that saw from me years ago. I think I sent it to him with a 272 runner. Not sure. But if anyone is looking for carb kits for one of these I'm pretty sure I have them. Might have the rubber antivibe bushings and also factory parts lists for all Olympyk saws. Gonna be starting...

    New Echos

That's really nice to know. The one thing that has stopped me from buying an Echo 620 or 590 is I would have to rebar and chain a whole new saw. Now my curiosity is getting the best of me. I'll be googleing shortly

Sold Low Hour 562 XPG W

Well whatever the deal they give me I'm driving home with a new saw on the floor of my truck and not worrying about a money transfer, shipping , and whether I get the USED saw in one piece. And I'm not saying a word about the price they quoted for a NEW saw and 6 pack of oil.

Needed a reminder why i avoid old saws..

Some saws just have a weak link about them. I remember coming across quite a few Olympics through the years that had bad coils. I was told that the manufacturer of those coils was no longer making them so parts were NLA. Also was told that Jonsered coils from the same era could be cross...

Best Starter Chainsaw for under $300??

I have an old friend who got injured in a motorcycle accident several years ago. He doesn't think too clearly at times now. He had one of the cleanest 041's you would ever find. He was a chord a year cutter and always takes extra good care of everything. He went out to saw up some firewood...
