Never heard of a model 6, I have been using Vermeer equipment 15 yrs. I had a 630B, there was a 630, 630A and a 665. Model 6 must be older than what I am aware of. They do have a 652 now.

Carlton 4012 vs Bandit 2450; What I bought, AND, why!!

Sounds good, seems like the cat's meow to me. If I get another one that is probably what it will be. The only thing I would do different is to get it with 4WD. Lot of hills where I live. Hardly ever work in a flat yard.

    Ford 8N

I used to have an 8N years ago. Mowingman is right about the PTO. You can get a PTO adapter to go on the PTO shaft that will eliminate that problem. I had one on mine that worked fine. It worked like a ratchet best I remember.

    Stump Grinding with stone landscaping

I have turned down a few jobs where I knew I had a high risk with rocks and other things that could really risk my equipment and other property. The job would just be to big of a pain, If it is not someone you work with a lot I would pass on it. That is my opinion, I am sure others will advise...

    Vermeer SC252 Stump Grinder

Don, if you do not have the dual wheels on your 252 you need to get them. If yours has them then only take them off to go through a gate and then put them back on. If you do not have the duals you will turn a 252 over. It is a mess with oil, hydraulic fluid and gas in a customers yard. Not to...

    Tell me the truth

There is a plug on the opposite side from where you operate from that has a wire coming from it, that is what controls the auto sweep. It may have gone bad. You may have to take it to the dealer for help. I have a 502A which is the same except you have a turbo and I had to replace that part on...

    Tell me the truth

The engine has to be at full RPM for the auto sweep to work properly. Did you move the throttle cable when you put the new clutch in? The engine speed has to be full throttle for the Auto sweep to work like it is suppose to.
