I just resided a building on my farm with green roughcut sawmill oak. I screwed the battens on using decking screws. It will allow you to tighten them up as the wood dries.
Mtngun are your flooring boards not tongue and groove? Just jointed,butted together and glued? Have you noticed any movement in the floor since you laid it?
The wedges were commercially made years ago and I see them on ebay from time to time. Barring that a machine shop or man with a lathe can maked one easily. They are handy to have in certain situations.
I would recommend wet sanding the blade before i had it sharpened. Many times the etch will become visible on the blade after this is done.
