New taco 009 pump hums but won't spin

One of the 2 circulating pumps on my Central Boiler 6048 quit so I put a new one on that I had for a spare. The pump hums but won't spin. Anyone else ever have this happen and what's the solution?

    dolmar 9010m throttle cable

The throttle cable broke on my 9010. Took it to my saw shop (Stihl) and he couldn't find the part. I found it online, but before I order it, thought I would tear into the saw a little to see how big a job it is. It looks like I have to take most of the saw apart. Starting think that the guy...

    Homelite xl 800 reeds

The reeds fall off of the holder. How do I get them to stay on when I re install? Trying to get this to run. Fuel line is good. Fires with either. Good spark. Tried 2 different cleaned carbs.

Can't turn it by hand. Stuck a lever in the handle but it won't budge and the handle bends so I'm letting off. Whats then trick to accessing the chimney?

    Echo 346 stops when hot

My Echo cs-346 starts, runs and cuts fine until it gets really warmed up and then it shuts down and won't re-start until it has cooled off. What are some possible causes? Thanks for any future serious responses. I'm not interested in hearing any bashing.

    Echo cs600 p initial observations

Recently obtained an Echo cs600p on ebay from a Mister Money in ND. $376 shipped. Unused, but not in original box, and missing the tool kit. My first thought was that it was stolen, but, don't national chain pawn shops check with local police to avoid that? Started and ran well. I...

    Water additive options?

I just tested the water in my CB 6048 and the Ph is fine but the nitrates are wrong. The additive the dealer sells seems expensive, so I was wondering if any of you know of a good substitute?

    high temp wall liner?

I have a small insulated shop that I would like to heat with wood occasionally. I also have an old unused Thermo-Control woodburner in good condition sitting around doing nothing. Not wanting to lose shop space, I was kicking around the idea of adding a little shack onto the side of my shop to...

    Hyd valve for Ingersoll splitter?

Is anyone here familiar with Case/ Ingersoll logsplitters? They split on both strokes. My model J34 needs a new hydraulic valve and I'm having trouble finding a match. I think I need a double acting cylinder and am wondering if a standard valve from a tractor supply store could be made to...

    Homelite fuel problem

I recently acquired a Homelite super xl automatic in relatively good condition. The fuel line was cracked and I replaced it. The saw runs great, but I'm getting a considerable amount of fuel in the carb box after each tank full is burned. Do I need an entire carb rebuild or is there another...

    Logosol vs Granberg

A nasty case of CAD has led me to dabble in milling logs. I've made a few oak beams and am looking into making planks with either the Logosol timberjig or the 24" Granberg MKIII. I have a Makita 7901 with the muffler mod and a 28" bar and a ripping chain. I need to mill some ash into deck...

    Homelite 330 for sale?

Years ago I bought a new Homelite 330. It was awful. It couldn't go more than 2 tankfuls without having something break and had to be taken to the dealer for repair. Now, after discovering this site, I keep reading posts that they were good saws???? Does anyone have one that they would like...

    info on making chains, please

I haven't had any luck finding instructions for making loops out of bulk saw chain. I have experience working with roller chain and riveting sections on cutter bars, so I think I could figure it out with a little trial and error. It would be nice to find some specific instructions. I already...

    Central Boiler price drop?

My Central Boiler dealer informed me that the price of a replacement digital controller has been dropped from over $100 to around $40. Anybody know why? Did they switch to a Chinese supplier, or just technology advances and manufacturing efficiency?

    used 361 $400 2 yr old

Went to my usual dealer for a new chain for my Echo limbing saw. While he was making it I naturally went to the new saw display. There was a brand new 361 sitting there. Surprisingly, I saw no aura and heard no angels trumpeting, but looked it over anyway. The tag said $609. Bill came back...

    seedless ash?

I recently cut down a tree that was right next to my house and starting to show signs of dying. I live on a farm that has been in the family since 1896. My Dad always said this tree was a Seedless Ash. Being not too familiar with the Ash family I'm posting here to find out if that is right...

    spark plug boot repair

Recently I converted a Makita 6401 to 79cc. During reassembly, the spark plug boot pulled away from the wire. I had bought the saw used on e-bay, and part of the coil that attaches to the top of the plug had always been sticking out the side of the boot, but had not been a problem 'til now. I...

    How to remove limiter caps?

I put a 79cc p&c on my 6401 Makita. I can't remove the limiter caps. I tried gently prying and also tried a small needle nose plier, but it wont slide off and I don't want to force it and break something. I heated the tip of an old small screwdriver and melted the 'tit' off the limiter cap...
