    castor c70

Thanks for all the info. I was intrigued because it's never been used, brand new in the box. But it doesn't sound like something that I would be interested in.

Anyone run one of these? I might be able to buy one and was wondering if they are a decent saw.

Homelite 360 Automatic; My latest project

I've been led to believe that it's possible to replace the boot with only the removal of the carb(working through the hole), so I'm guessing it's no problem to pull it through the hole. Did you get the helical spring for the bottom of the boot? It fits in the groove at the bottom of the...

Homelite 360 Automatic; My latest project

Glad to help. I'm guessing that it is probably the boot, and the impulse line is fine. As someone else pointed out, they go bad pretty often. I hope my new one hasn't gone bad just sitting around, as I don't use it much. Mine was a mess when I got it. The previous owner had figured out that...

Homelite 360 Automatic; My latest project

I did a boot replace a couple years ago and took some pics. http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/104682.htm The guy I bought the boot from claimed he could do the replacement without taking the top off, but I don't see that as working too well.

    World's biggest Bowsaw

Didn't see the thread for "saw it on CL". Is there still one? Anyway, I saw this one and thought it was unusual. I have never seen a bowsaw attatchment for a 2 man saw. 2 Man Chainsaw

    Swap meet...

Anyone have a pull starter cover for a J-red 70e? The part I'm really after is the screen, but I'm open to whatever part of the assembly I need to get to get it. I also need the spark plug cover.

    Homelite 360 carburetor adjustment question

My manual says 1 and 1/4 turns from lightly seated for both. Of course you'll still have to adjust it from there.

Need a new small side kick saw. Opinions wanted!!

I use a Stihl 011 AV for what you are talking about. I have two usable and one parts saw. It's not as fancy as some of the saws mentioned, and does have a bunch of plastic, but it is light, has good power. The main one I use has a 16" bar that is nice for reaching. Oh, and I got it for $10 at an...

    Wright and homelites

There is a molded fuel line for the xl-12. It looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Homelite-Molded-Fuel-Line-XL-12-and-Super-XL-Auto-/200468898674?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eace0a372 I would guess that one of the site sponsors carries them, and that would be a good...

Husqvarna 365 fuel line is impossible to push through opening in tank

I cut a bit more than half of the width of the line for about 1/2 inch or so from the end, starting with a angle on the upper end. The thin piece fits easily through the hole and with the line lubed I pull it through with a pliers.

    stihl 011 av oiler

Just a thought. If it's leaking from the pump gasket, it's could be because the pump quit working and they tried to take it apart and fix it. Try running the saw with oil in it and the bar off to check if the pump is working. If it's not, it would save some time to fix the pump and the seal all...

    J'Red 90 and 80

Thanks, it was probably a once in a lifetime score. I got a 28 in bar and chain from Bailey's, on sale, for $50. It cuts great. I was ripping through dry White Oak like it was butter! Crosscutting and noodling. I really love that saw.

    J'Red 90 and 80

I got my 80 for $50 bucks, but that was a fluke. It was at an estate sale. They said a bunch of people had looked at it, but it was "too heavy". If you get a chance at a good one grab it. I love running mine.

What to do with unused saw mix

You may want to be carefull about how much soaks in the ground(if any), as you could potentially start affecting the ground water. Digging a hole and dumping in old gas/oil/other fluids was the preferred method of disposal for the military for years. That's why a lot of bases are now Hazmat...

Whats you favorite wood to cut/burn.... -Stove Pics-

I burn a wide variety of wood, depending on what I can get and how cold it is. I like Red Oak the best, and I currently have access to an almost unlimited supply. My Uncle, who doesn't burn wood, has a pasture full of them. No one has cut there for 50 years, so they are from 20 to 40 inches. My...

New to me Jonsered 510sp questions

I got a neighbor's 510sp running last fall. It just needed a little carb cleaning and some decent fuel. When I got done getting it running I used it to trim some trees. I liked the cutting performance to weight ratio on it, and thought I would like one. I saw one on CL a month or two later, but...
