The 3 shoe clutch is the way to go on a 262xp. I bought a 262xp that someone had took the the factory 3 shoe clutch off and put a brand new 2 shoe on it like a 254xp has. It slipped and I had to put a 3 shoe on it.

If you really want a mess use a concrete saw in the house. Here I'm taking out a chimney.

Used my trusty Husqvarna 141 in a flip house, after removing the cabinets the floor was rotten from a leaking pipe. In a few minutes the rotten floor was laying in the basement. I consider a 141 husky an essential house flipping tool.

I have the same problem with my 254xp. I can screw the H screw till it bottoms and the rpms are still to low for the saw to 4stroke, runs rich. I've been thinking of trying to put the carb from my 262xp that turns 15,500 rpms on it.

First saw was a Homelite Super XL Automatic , made in 1971. My father bought it new and I inherited it . Never really liked running it, vibration was off the scale compared to modern saws.

Brad, You seem to be the only one that has a clue. Tell me, have you modded saws with a governor carb? If so, did you do anything about the governor?

I know turning the screws in leans the saw and out richens it. On this saw when the H screw is all the way in the rpms are at the highest. If you turn it out the rpms go down. It is impossible to adjust it to 4 stroke, it is to rich even with to H screw all the way in.

Yes, Turning the H screw in clockwise and when it bottoms out the rpms are still climbing and the saw has not reached 4 stroke rpm yet. What is the reason for this? My other saws will start to lose rpms before the H screw bottoms out.
