    Picked up a used MS200

Hi Guys, Been ages since I popped into the forum, hope you are all doing well. Recently picked up a used MS200 backhandle saw and want to replace the 12" bar and chain. Came across this "Oregon 105667 14-Inch Replacement Chain Saw Bar and Chain Combo for Stihl" on Amazon.ca and would like your...

    Help cleaning up MS261

I paid $140 for the saw as is. Bought a new air filter, fuel filter and spark plug for about $30. I think the saw will be a good runner for sure once it is cleaned up and had a few tanks of fresh fuel and Sea Foam through it.

    Help cleaning up MS261

Good point, it was not well taken care of and probably never cleaned so I will just run it as is after I sharpen the chain. Maybe a muffler mod in the near future.

    Help cleaning up MS261

Can you give me any insight as to what causes the blue/black burned look on the chain? Is this normal wear or from something else?

    Help cleaning up MS261

Got the saw all cleaned up but noticed that the chain had a very distinct blue/black color to it. I gave the chain a quick spray and scrub with purple power. I'm wondering if this blue/black color is from the previous owner overheating the bar & chain by running no oil, low oil or poor quality...

Thanks for the input so far guys! I should have a progress update for you after work with some pictures. Planning to use some Sea Foam on the first couple of tanks and see how it cleans up, Sea Foam is a great idea that I never would have thought of on my own, love this site! . If it is still...

    Help cleaning up MS261

How can I be sure it has the M-Tronic technology on this saw? It just says 261C on the recoil cover. As cgraham1 mentioned his saw is carbureted and just says 261. I also wanted to double check that a NGK BPMR 7A is the correct replacement plug for this saw? I just did a quick goggle and...

    Help cleaning up MS261

Hi Gents, I picked up a used Stihl MS 261c this evening from Kijiji (Canadian version of Craigs list). The saw starts up right away but needs some TLC. I need some input on how to get this saw back to tip top shape. The previous owner didn't even know it had air filter! I asked him how clean...

Thanks for the input guys! I figured it was way to much and I even told him that. I didn't want to come across as trying to low ball him. Come to think about it I didn't even make an offer, perhaps I will call him in a couple of weeks and offer him $100 to $150. Are there an notable...

I'm looking at buying this Stihl 009L, What do you think?

I posted an ad on Kijiji here in Canada. Its a free online classified. I said I was looking for a used top handle chainsaw. This guy called me up and told me he was asking $250 Canadian for his Stihl 009L. I kinda thought that was alot money considering I can buy a brand new 192T for $375. He...

    MS 250 Stalling Problems

I haven't checked the fuel line yet, but a little sheepish to admit I don't know how to do that? Is it just the hose inside the tank that gets pulled out and inspected? Also what is that little bulb on the end of the fuel line inside the filler hole? Is that the fuel filter? The muffler...

    MS 250 Stalling Problems

My very well used/abused MS 250 that I picked up cheap from a construction crew last year is having issues starting and also staying running. From cold start up it takes alot of pulls to get running and once running it will stall almost right away. Once the saw is warmed up it still will...

    what's a stihl ms192t worth?

MS 192T vs MS 200T Whats the main differences between the MS 192T (homeowner) and MS 200T (professional). Can someone break this comparison down for me? I'm looking to buy one of these saws for homeowner and ATV purposes. The 200T is more powerful so it more attractive to...

Chainsaw box for front of ATV

Hi guys, I'm wanting to mount a low profile design chainsaw case to the front rack of my ATV. The regular chainsaw cases are too bulky and stick up to high for my liking. I'm wanting something that protects the saw from the elements and perhaps has a little room for files and some other...

How to dispose of old mix?

:agree2: I totally agree, not gonna matter much when mixed with such a large amount of fresh fuel in your truck tank.
