    I assume we were talking about newly planted trees. So your not going to have high volume of root growth beyond the dripline. Older trees, yes. I like apply fert. 10-15' past the dripline.

    Carbide chain I use it regularly for root pruning. Get about 100' before I have to resharpen. 400'- then it's toast. Cost $135. for a 24" loop. But I charge $10 per foot. It's hard work.

    Homemade Log Dolly

    ATV Log dolly looks like it performs real well, but for speed and power, you can't beat an ATV. I'm on my 3rd one in 15 years. Need a 300cc or better w/4 wheel drive. I also have 3 trailers to go w/it when jobs require different parameters.

    YP works for me Then try to use ISA's logo w/your chapter, in the ad. Also, if you're paying that kind of $$- you should be able to get a listing under " Arborist" for free. Glad I don't live in TX. P.S. I just bought a new Hobie Mirage Outback kayak-I love it! It's a no-hands-mobility.

    palms Tallest palm trimmed-50' off of a 40' ladder w/a HT-75 fully extended. (wash.) Most palms trimmed-over 1100 Cabbage in 6 weeks. Most trimmed in one day- 80 Cabbage. (Bucket truck) All palms I trim are 10-2. Except for Queen's,3-9.

    I stop to stop topping Every chance I get when I see a topped tree either residental or commerial, I stop and drop off the ISA brochure-'Why topping hurts trees'. Good information can't hurt. Also, it has my company info on the back.

    Mangroves

    Mangroves have many 'prop roots' which make walking and moving equip. difficult.(go to mangrove.org to see pics). Then you've got the water to contend with.It is alot of hand work.

    Is anyone out there a PMT? (Professional Mangrove Trimmer) Being an ISA cert. arborist, Florida's Dept. of Enviromental Protection recognizes us as one who they want to trim and permit for mangroves.

    I Hate Poison Ivy

    PI I'm allergic to PI like alot us are. I always carry over-the-counter rubbing alchol. As soon as I know I've come in contact with it, I pour it directly on the areas. It cuts the oil. Also, try spraying on anti-perspirant before you start working.
