    My First Chainsaw

What dealers do you have close? There are several good brands out there ( in no particular order: Husqvarna, Jonsered, stihl, Dolmar/Makita,Shindaiwa, Redmax). For your first saw I recommend finding a dealer you like that sells one of the above mentioned brands and go from there. I would stay...

    Death in the Stihl family

This thread sucks. And I for one am going to take Brads back on this one. A lot of people come to AS for advice on saws. There is a BUNCH of knowledge on here. The last thing someone should want to hear, IMHO, is a saw recommendation based on someones pet brand. I for one think people who are...

    how to season wood

My experience with oak has been 2 years, my wood is stacked in a single row off the ground, open to the sun and wind. I tried some oak with 1 year of drying, did not work for me. I suggest you burn some of it at the 1 year point, and some at the 2 year point and see what you think.

    Chainsaws, Fire & Guns

A Single Six is great little revolver. My first firearm was a Single Six my father gave me for Christmas when I was 13, long barrel version (9 1/2" I think). I bought each of my sons a 4 5/8" model a few years back and really liked them so my wife bought me one for Christmas, all of them have...

I do not know what kind your Father has but I have a Cub Cadet/MTD I bought a few years back. I have had zero problems with it and am pleased with it's performance. I know it is a cheap one, but so far so good.
