Should I try my hand at blacksmithing?

Try it for sure, you'll for sure fall in love with it. I've been doing it for some 10 to 12 years now. I you do like it, find a local Guild near you and you will learn a tremendous amount about the craft. I've made so many things, give them all away except for some nice pieces I've kept...

    Need Some Price Help

Many thanks, for the info. I doubt that I would use them. Probably just put them up on the shelf or maybe sell them for a little profit. I have plenty of others to use. I'm sure they may do someone else more justice. I'm the one that has to make an offer, he won't price them.

    Stihl Light Bar

I used my 460 again today with the 28" light bar, and now i've probably got 10-12 hrs. on it, and honestly I can tell very little difference between the light and the regular bar. I was using a 24" regular before i got the light. I ordered another one today, bought a 32". I will be in on...

    Stihl Light Bar

I ordered my 28" Stihl Light on Wednesday, and came in Friday. It was $120.00 + tax. Live here in the Valley of Va. Used it today to cut 3 loads of wood, and fell two big oaks, and love the bar on my 460. Makes for a very well balanced saw.

Why do so many people love the 290/390?

Well i had to chime in. I don't usually post a lot, but now i feel the need. Thanks to AS, I have gotten the CAD just as many have. When I first joined the site, probably a year and a half ago, I only had 2 chainsaw's. Now I own every Stihl Pro saw except the 880. When I joined, I...

    Removing Stihl Limiter Caps

I use a small crochet hook,, and just pull them out,, cut off the tabs with an exacto knife and push them back in.. no problem at all.. that's the way I do it and works like a charm

    ms 361 with 24" bar

I have a 24" on mine, and it sure makes limbing a lot easier. It is streatching it to cut 24"+ hardwood, you just have to take your time. I have muffler modded mine, and it works great. I probably would not go back to a 20. This is just my thought, and other's may not agree.

    Ace Hardware and Sthil

My local Ace Hardware here in the Shenandoah Valley has been selling Stihl Products for 6 or 8 years. I buy 3 pack of 13/64 files at $3.95 per pack. And a 361 can be had for about $575.00 with 20"B&C. They have a wonderful service as well. Think they have a tech. that is "Gold", if im...

    Efficiency Of Newer Oils!!!

Like I said... they're your saws... :agree2: I agree with Gary. Use the oil your saw recommends. I've used Stihl Oil in Stihl Chain Saw's for over 25 years,, and never a problem. The cost is so minute it will not make any difference. In the past year, I have switched to the STihl...

    How bad is the economy?

I think this is a pretty good thread, may give a feel for what the economy is doing in purchases that we may really not need. I think since gas prices have leveled off, it has helped some, and I still plan to buy several more.
