Thanks it’s starting to appear that way.

Tsumara bar - white vs silver

Hmm you may well be right - if photographed in a white enclosure it would look white. I can only see white bars in the Tsumara catalogue so maybe that’s what’s happened Not for the woods I cut - it’s perfect. It’s on its third bar now. Got a 28” but rarely use it, that’s where the 090 comes in...

Tsumara bar - white vs silver

Yeah basically I’m looking at two different suppliers - one sells silver one sells white. As far as I can tell they’re the same but I’d like to know first. White is $15 cheaper

Tsumara bar - white vs silver

Looking at a 20” Tsumara bar for my 064. Is there any difference between the white and the silver bars? Ie https://www.coonasawchain.com.au/shop/item/20-31-a372-ps https://www.chainsawspares.com.au/20-tsumura-professional-3-8-bar-for-stihl-chainsaw

    090 on an Edging Mill?

Thanks for your feedback, that makes it pretty clear I won’t even consider the 090, and even the 064 will be borderline. Problem is my next down is an 024, which I don’t reckon is up to the task. Anyway, that’s good info thanks

    090 on an Edging Mill?

Looks good. Although I see you’re using a “small log mill”, and also I think they’ve changed the name of a mini mill to an “edging mill”, so I’m updating my post. An 090 would be no good on a small log mill for sure!

    090 on an Edging Mill?

Thanks Link. I normally use it on an Alaskan style with a 36” bar but I’m getting a mini mill for vertical cuts to square posts and straight edge boards in situ. I have a spare 25” bar for it I never use and to save getting another chain and flogging my 064 I’m considering converting a spare 404...

    090 on an Edging Mill?

Any run an 090/070 (or any other Big Saw) on a edging mill style setup? Just wondering if it’ll be too top heavy or unstable with say a 25” bar https://www.cannings.com.au/collections/granberg/products/mini-mill?_pos=1&_sid=7c65ebb4e&_ss=r

How to choose correct Stihl AV buffers

Sorry, just read your post better - I see it’s 18. So the differences are obviously just rubber hardness not fitment?

How to choose correct Stihl AV buffers

Yeah that’s what my list looks like - so do I want 15,18 or 21? They’re all listed for one buffer

How to choose correct Stihl AV buffers

Trying to order AV buffers for my 064. The IPL lists 3 choice of rubbers per location. EG for the rear lower buffer, it could be any of these: 1125 790 9906 Annular buffer1125/06 1125 790 9904 Annular buffer1125/04 1125 790 9910 Annular buffer1125/10 Which do I want? It’s an early model with...

064 blocking air filter too quick

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I’m pretty sure I’ve discovered the problem - (after deye223 nailed it out anyway) the damaged clutch cover is funnelling chips/dust straight at the intake. I’ll be swapping it out also modding the cover a bit to pull cleaner air in.

064 blocking air filter too quick

Actually I read about these a while ago then forgot about them, they look good. I might send them a message and see about postage

064 blocking air filter too quick

I’ve thought about trying some stocking, but I’m using the house off a later 066 and an HD2 filter (just bought a another new one)

064 blocking air filter too quick

Wouldn’t running with no cover make it worse? Have been thinking about a max flow set up, but it’s an expensive option as I’d have to get it from Overseas. Also, I can’t believe I need to go aftermarket to get a working filter - other 066/064/ms660s don’t have this problem here, nor do my other...

064 blocking air filter too quick

Dry yellow box, white box and Blakey’s red gum. Hard, dense timber. But none of my other saws have an issue Not really, I can’t see it shedding that much dust either. Maybe I should give it a thorough clean then try it. There is actually a small piece missing off the bottom of the clutch cover...
