    What is the best designed vertical splitter you have seen? I am planning on building one and I need some ideas for my new monster that will have a 5In cylinder and a 16GPM pump.

    Here we sell it by the hand thrown pickup truck load which comes out to roughly 3/4 cord for $65 (possibly $75 this year) I bring in three truck loads or more per turn and burn with my big truck @$75 per load.

    In my case I need to add in the cost of a vertical splitter rental ($40) and the cost per load for my wood which is $75 per load which ends up equaling three pickup truck loads @ $65 per load.

    I have got my motor assembly almost complete the only thing is can I mount my pump with the Northern stick facing down so the suction on the left side (if your looking at the pump end of the motor)?

    I just picked up a nice new MS390 with a 20 inch bar from my local Stihl dealer yesterday this saw rocks I can cut most anything with it and not miss a lick.:rock:

    Find someone with Carlton chain and get them to make you a few loops so far that has been the best chain I have found for my Mac and baby Stihl

    Okay now I know I must have a breaker for making my new chains but do I really need a rivet spinner and can I get away with using a pocket chain breaker?

    Well I got my load it was only $75 :clap::cheers: I will post some pictures tomarrow of the load, it was all old well seasoned/slightly rotten.

    BUT you must remember MOST not all but MOST of those units are 3 phase and cost several thousand dollars which is out of the league of most common users. So far from what I can tell from this thread the member who started it is on a fairly tight budget and is new to welding both of which counts...
