    Log splitter troubleshooting help

I've repacked a few before, the hardest part is tracking down all the seals when seal kits are no longer available.

    Log splitter troubleshooting help

The piston seals crapped out. I took the hose that runs from the rear of the cylinder to the spool valve loose, retracted the rod all the way and fluid stared pouring out once it was fully retracted.

    Log splitter troubleshooting help

I have an older Iron & Oak fast cycle splitter that not creating enough force to split wood. The ram extends and retracts quickly but it goes limp wristed as soon as it hits a piece of wood. I'm thinking a piston seal in the cylinder crapped out or the 2 stage pump isn't kicking down like it's...

Does stihl make a 3/8 -.050 semi-chisel full skip or half skip chain? If so, would someone be so kind as to provide a part number?

    Critique this pruning job

The tree service was hired to prune the trees and asked that they be shaped up and get rid of any excess/unneeded growth, that's all. If you look at pictures 2 and 4, you can see tons of excess growth. I'm no arborist or tree expert but it looks like they did prune the excess growth out to a...

    Critique this pruning job

These are 3 southern live oaks(Quercus virginiana) that were pruned last week by a local tree company and I'd like your opinion on how good of a job they did. To me, it looks like the climber didn't go far enough out on the limbs and remove the excess/downward growth except for a few that were...

I don't remember there being so many in years past and the 3 that have the most of these have not put on any new growth this year. Just worried it's some kind of parasite.

So my Uncle and and his 6 kids had to leave the house they have been renting for 10 years because the owner sold it. Long story short, the house they moved into does not have central heat and they are relying on the fireplace to get them by for now. If any of you know a reputable firewood...

    Workman's Comp Bull ####

A simple claim in CA cost the ins company 2-3 times more than most other states. Everyone gets an attorney, lots of cheating employers/employees and last time I checked there was no cap on attorneys fees. If CA want to lower rates, there are plenty of things they can do. Arkansas has a great...

    Workman's Comp Bull ####

It's not mandatory and it's really up to the underwriter. The more safety controls you have in place, the more likely the underwriter is to give you discounts though. PS: make sure the safety meetings document who was there, what was covered, date and sign out sheets.

    Stihl 044 value ?

Rough bunch on here tonight. In reality, how many people ask how many hours a saw has when they buy it??? If it's in good mechanical shape, it should fetch around $350 pretty easy and quickly.

Nice work Don. Looks like a pretty efficient set up.

440, 441, or 460? which one if I can only have one?

Go with a 460 or if you are mechanically inclined, get a 440 and stick a 460 top end on it.
