    redmax 3200 parts

There were a few posts, literally years ago, that mentioned a member on the east coast that carried quite a few parts for redmax saws. I believe his name was Randy, possibly out of Pennsylvania. Sound familiar, and does anyone have any leads?

    Question on Oak Wilt

Up here in Wisconsin, the DNR used to recommend to cut Oak trees from frost to frost, which is usually from October through April. Then, I believe it was said you could cut after July. I have some Oak that has been dead and the bark is off. Am I safe to cut it now, or should I wait until the...

    scalped black walnut

OK Guys, thanks for the opinions. I was looking for some kind of treatment for the wound. Cutting down the tree would be a last resort, it has more value to me as a shade tree, for as long as I can keep it living. Backhoe operator was tearing down an old building in tight conditions. Stuff...

Want to Sell Free to a good home

I posted this under the chainsaw forum, but only had 1 hit, looking for a specific saw, but it was not the model they were looking for. They are not for sale, just need to go to someone who can use them. Most of the powerheads are intact. Here is the post I had under Chainsaws : Throughout the...

    Woulda ,Coulda, Shoulda

Throughout the span that I have been chainsaw carving, I have had people give me numerous beater saws, thinking I could repair them or use them for parts. I have accumulated about a dozen power heads and have absolutely no use for them. I am located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, and will give them to...

What is the best bang for your buck battery powered line trimmer

There is a great post on battery powered hand tools, covering drills, impact tools and accessories a few pages back. I'm trying to find some info/opinions on some of the lithium powered line trimmers. Anyone on here have any hands on experience with any of the different brands? -ken

    Crazy Burls

Full Chisel, Post your original posting over on the wood carving and turning section on Arboristsite. I'm quite sure you will generate a lot of interest from the turners over there. SVK, the burl that you ripped in half would of had generated some interest from the turners also, if you would...

    Nice eagle

Nice form on the eagle, excellent talons, and base. The eyes seem like they are set too far back, giving it too soft of a look, almost like a dove, doe, or rabbit, verses the intensity of a predator/hunter. Maybe its the angle. Do you have a side view? -ken

    Am I doing this right?

Redtail, I am going to disagree with the asthetic statement. By peeling the logs you decrease the chances of giving various insects a home, verses leaving the bark intact. As far as peeling your logs, the way you are doing it seems to work out fine. You are using your axe head like an awkward...

Is it worth trying without carving bar and chain?

Weedkilla, No a specialized carving is not necessary get the hang of chainsaw carving. For years I was a saw beech for Loghoggers, out of Quincy, Illinois, with the specific intent to be exposed to some of the best carvers in the United States. I helped move logs and carvings in and out of...

Flotek, in a previous post it was mentioned that the leveraxe was about $320 Canadien, and about $280 in US dollars, but that post was from 2011 and did not include shipping. Eric, what is the status of the leveraxe? Is it still floating around or was it sent back to Findland? -ken

    I finally did it.

Keeper Ax man, If your wife is happy with it, keep it. I wish I would have kept my first bear carving. Carve or grind the date carved and a number 1 on the bottom and you can use this carving as a gauge on your improving carving skills . Years from now, you can pull out your first bear...
