    If I recall, my 372 with 20" B&C, fuel & oil is a bit over 18 lbs.

The we need to help Stump rebuild a shop, replace tools, replace saws thread.

Finally Sorry guys, been busy as a 1 armed paper hanger lately! I got the PM earlier today & didn't even have time to catch up on the thread yet. I know you want to get on with everything, so I'll get on with this, I will choose the 372 top end, thought long and hard about the 285, but I have...

Wow, its been awhile since I have been on, but it looks like this thread has really taken off! Glad to see you back in action Stump. WSC, pay pal sent, glad to see there are still decent people in this world.

    I bought a 056 parts saw

Hopefully you got an accurate mesurement on the bore, I like to do them with the cylinder off of the crankcase, sometimes hard while still together. Also, my 056 Super AV has the dual port muffler too.

    Husqvarna 353 Brake Handle

You are correct, but if you're in a pinch and already have a brake handle from a 350, you can remove some plastic to accomodate the tab opening (provided you have the original 353 handle to see where you have to modify), not a really big deal, if I recall, it just makes the opening for the tab...

    338XPT questions?

Good call pgg, I forgot all about the oil pump problems on this model and I even had to replace the pump shaft on my 335xpt, it was broken completely in half! It was a bear to get out too, lots of patience involved with that fix. In the picture right before the picture of the carb, the white...

    338XPT questions?

Question 1: The previous owner probably replaced the tank/handle assembly, I've seen a few of these where the front end has taken a beating and the oil tank started leaking. Question 2: Yes the clutch drum should spin freely (provided the bar & chain are out of the picture).

New guy with a crazy 372xp question

You may want to take a look at Madsens shop & supply website, they have a good description for tuning saws under the saw tuning and repair tab. I like tuning with a tach, but if you don't have or know someone that has one, you can still get it close by ear. The search feature was not working...

Just tore down a husky 350

Do a search on e-bay and find seller kafar85 he sells aftermarket p&c kits as well as pistons only. He may not have one listed for a 353, but if you contact him he will list one for you, very easy to deal with. I have done at least 1/2 dozen or more friends saws that are 350's (45mm) and...

MS 390, buy or save for a different saw?

Wow, someone dug up an old thread huh?

i am so freaking excited i am giddy

Put a 20" bar on the 372, you will forget you own the 361 (and you won't have to run it as long either)! Not that the 361 is bad, you will just have a big smile on your face when going through the bigger wood with the 372.

Are there two grades of Husqvarna saws

I was thinking more along the lines of Junk, Landowner & Pro, but for the money, skip the first two and buy the best! Of course Troll has some good advice if you're set on the Landowner series.

Just tore down a husky 350

If you've got the dished piston, you can replace it withe a flat top from a 353, I've done this to several saws for friends & they are still going strong.

    Help on rim spocket size?

So the WPL 20 is not the series number right? The 20 is actually the loop size & has nothing to do with the part number, it is actually a WPL 30 series chain; the chain box probably reads WPL 20" 38RC-72? Now this makes sense. Listing it as a WPL 20 threw me off, I have used both the 20 (.325)...

    Help on rim spocket size?

Where did you get the WPL 20 38rc72link number from; Bailey's website doesn't list chains with this number system. I believe, and you can check me on this, but if you visit Bailey's website and look at the WPL series chains, you have the wrong chain for your combination.

    Help on rim spocket size?

Your other post says you recieved a WPL 20 series chain from Bailey's, this is the problem if everything else you have is 3/8. Tell Bailey's to send you the right chain which will be a WPL 30 series. Hopefully you haven't ruined the bar by trying to increase the groove size, or spent too much...

What to do now for 372xp

From your other post, it looks like you recieved a WPL 20 chain which should be .325, you need to contact Bailey & get the right chain; it should be a WPL 30 chain which is 3/8.

Need help! problems with my 372xp

From what I see here you have a 3/8 .058 bar, and it looks like you also have the 3/8 rim sprocket, however the WPL 20 38RC72 is a .325 chain, if I recall Baileys (WPL) chain in 3/8 is a WPL 30 I would contact Bailey's and tell them they sent you the wrong chain.
