I have never used anything other than Stihl chain, I've just stuck with what the saw came with. Are there after market chains that are as good and perhaps cost less?

I wanted to get some opinions on saw chain. I use the 33RSC3 because that is what came on the saw. Is that a pretty good all around chain or is there better cutting chain or does it really make a difference? I have 18" bar . I really don't understand the differences in the chain. any thoughts ?

This 031 is on a farm auction I don't have any idea what it will bring,like you said how ever much two people are willing to bid. If I can pick it up for $ 50.00 I can put a little in it. Also were the 031's a good saw in their day?

I have recently bought a new saw, It came with 33RSC3 (Stihl) chain. I really don't know the difference between that style and the others. My main kind of cutting is fire wood, any suggestions on chain type? "The saw is ms 361"

can a ms 361 run safely using 100 LL octane airplane gas ?

Forgot to say my husky 162 at least 20 years old does a better job than the 361.

I think I might take it in and have it checked out it just won't stay going as fast as I think it should. And I don't think i'm pushing it too hard, maybe I expect to much from it.

Maybe I should try a 6 pin? I don't think my 361 runs even 3/4 rpms that it should or even less when cutting a good size log. I haven't been impressed with the performance of the saw yet.

Does anyone know what sprocket comes standard on the 361? and which one should i use to get more torque and power, my 361 is a little short on torque and power with 18" bar.
