Single Axle vs Tandem Axle Dump Trailers

I think your 5k trailer is rated for about 4000 lbs and the gross weight is 5K. A 7K trailer does not have much more capacity due to the weight of the trailer, Those are usually 6 x 12 where the single axle is a 5x8. The dual axles do tow better and do not put as much weight on the truck, but...

Huskee or Brave log splitter purchase?

I just purchased a Huskee 22 ton last week. Had two hoses leeking because there was not any teflon tape in the threads. TSC fixed that problem. Other than that minor problem, it works great. Split about 2 cords so far and it has split everything. ENgine starts right up. My question is that...

    Help! furnace circulation fan?

It is easier to move cold air. Try placing a fan blowing air into the hotter room. As far as getting heat to go donwstairs, if you figure that out, you could be rich.

Firewood Pet Peeves. You know you want to vent...

I hate people trying to drive and talking on the cell phone, holding up traffic and being a hazzard. I respect you for pulling off the road to talk. The guy was rude in taking the other calls while talking with you.:greenchainsaw:

    Need advice for non-combustible wall

You can not use steel studs and something like sheetrock attached to the back side. The heat will transfer, that is why the false wall has an air gap.

    Log Splitter-What do we NEED?

Rentals here are right at $100, add insurance and tax and you are at $120 for a day. They are 20 ton units that are not that good. So for 10 rentals, you can purchase a splitter from Northern or TSC. Having your own, you can split at your own pace.

    MS-361 Chain

The Husky is a .050 the same as the Stihl. I just did not think the 2 where interchangible but it looks like I got lucky. Both bars are 20" lenght and .050 gauge and 3/8 and 72 links. I don't know that much about Stihl saws and have never owned one, but know I do. Glad to know that the...

    MS-361 Chain

I had been looking to buy a Dolmar 7300 or 7900, but no good dealers near me and Amick's was closed when I stopped by the week of July 4th. I had also looked at the MS-441 and MS-460, but was having a hard time departing over $800. Anyway yesterday I went to buy a Stihl blower from a retire...

    Notherntools....Powerhorse log splitters?

They had a demo of them at the Northern store near me 2 weeks ago. THey seem to work fine. I was talking with the Northern person and he happened to be the service technican. He said they where made in China. I asked for a recommendation on what to buy, and he said, not these, get a...

    Log Splitter Recommendation

From what I have researched, it looks like and American or a Timberwolf. WHat about the Split-Fire? I also have to find out if they can be purchased near me or about shipping. Thanks

    Log Splitter Recommendation

I actually like the horizontal only ones, but a lift would have to be available. I had not thought about Timberwolf and will take a look at them. I would rather wait until I have the money and get the best available splitter, as long as it is not to much $$.

    Log Splitter Recommendation

What splitter would you recommend? I will split maybe 4-5 chords a year for my stove. I want a splitter to last me a long time so I will pay some extra $$ to get quality. I have looked at the following: Northstar 37 ton with 9 hp Honda, can get for about $1700. Looks well built and has a...

    My latest rant on Dolmar

I live in a city that has over 1 million people in the city and surrounding area. Do dealers. Have to drive 60 miles to find one that stocks anything. As far as Sthil goes, 6 dealers in a 10 mile radius. I was all set to pick up a 5100 from Amick's over the 4th of July on a trip, stopped by...

my house is now 100% oil free!!

    Where can I buy a 5100?

Thanks Boike. Which saw did you get and did they give you a good price?

    Where can I buy a 5100?

I looked there and the nearest store that is a real power product store, not a gas station is like 120 miles away. I emailed them and no respone. Amicks is a 4 hour drive. I stopped by the week of July 4th, but they where closed. I was going to pick up a 7300 or 7900. If I could find somone...
