I usually cut with my 361, but occasionally use my buddies 660. That saw gets heavy, made me start looking at 460's.

There are many different prices for the various ratings. The local guys would know best.

I burn both eastern red cedar and black walnut. There is not much a difference in my eyes. The black walnut never impressed me much, and the cedar burns hotter and longer than you would think due to it's oily nature. Dry it, burn it, enjoy it.

I run a 16" bar with 3/8 full comp on my 260. Not the greatest setup in the world, that's for sure. I do it because everything else I use is 3/8. I have found that the chain needs to be detuned (tall rakers) or the saw is terrible to run.

That's funny! I did the same thing this week!:laugh: Took me 3 days to find mine though, it was laying in the shed on the Speeco. Thought I was gonna have to buy a new one!

No different than putting a youngster on a 4-wheeler or dirt-bike. I like it! He has obviously been shown how to run the saw safely, and that chain looks to be a low kickback chain that has been detuned.

You would have to do a multiple pulley setup. Otherwise you would end up with about a 60" pulley on the conveyor.

Preset #9 is always pre-programmed for 911. Works on all phones that have not had it disabled. Wear ppe and take a first aid/cpr class. Having ANNUAL first aid/cpr training will offer confidence in the stressful situations you are hoping to avoid. But again, safety is #1. It can be tough...

Just be sure to run the ram back in before quitting for the day. Actually, you should do that all the time anyways. I put a breather filter on the hydraulic tank to help keep water/dirt out. That factory setup is a joke. I used one of these filters...

Sounds like the black locust I have here, but I throw chips with a sharp chain. When splitting after it lays for a while it is almost like it gets stringier. Worth the work though!

Well said, I experienced the same thing. Also found that my Fiskars will split anything that an 8lb maul will. No need to carry the maul around unless it is 10lb or more.

I recommend Herculiner. The roll-on stuff. Works GREAT! BTW- Nice pic.
