Hamish...You fellers have some serious snow.
One of the VT USGS hydrologists was on local news the other day and said that the snow pack statewide was 2-3 feet. Then he warned of a serious potential of widespread flooding if we get a quick thaw. 5 - 10" of water in existing snow pack.
How do I determine the depth to sharpen at?? Just picked up a file-n-joint recently.
Free hand filing with round file has lead to less than optimal results. Time to get more serious.
Centrally located masonry heater. All 9 tons of it. One my wood turning friends has a Russian Furnace. 5 cords per year. Load it once a day. Burn it flat out wide open then shut it down. No maintenance involved. It's the cat's ass.
It's fgn cold here too. We've had enough!!!! People are breaking the bank to heat this year. I still have enough wood to pull me thru, barely. Cut a little extra this year past. Farmer's Almanac said to.
Normally we're half way thru sugaring season by now. Not this year. It has yet to begin.
Hey Randy,
What can you do for my stock MS361? I hate to be without it, but I can always fall back on the Mac and Husky. PM me if you'd like.
Thank, Carl
From the descriptions of the weather and terrain, sounds like a Limey would find himself on another planet in the PNW. Not for the faint of heart. But on the other hand, a young fella with a lot of ambition and motivation can achieve a lot.
Scoot across the Lake at Crown Point, hit 87 and I could be there in a few hours. I'll check my work schedule. Looks like it's pretty close to Malta where I was at for business a couple years ago.
Thanks for the post.
LOL!! Exactly what I was thinking as well. Call me a skeptic, I'm OK with that. A little dose of critical thinking can be very effective. Speaking of Walleyes....check out the Great Outdoors forum under ice fishing.
Here's white spider monkey's diagnosis..............http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder Fits like a glove. I'm not a shrink, but I do have medical professionals in the family. I strongly believe this is an accurate diagnosis. There is hope for him with cognitive...
Yes, contact with the higher foot by the wedge was what I trying to convey. If you look at the pic on my modified foot/base you will see distinct markings from the wedge contacting the center of the foot. Needed to do a bit of wedge grinding and shaping then. It just barely makes contact now...
Interesting how you've managed to post pics to a heat pump thread, but are unable to post pics to your threads on your new husky and the big ash.
I call hooey. You're about to join a select few in the Iggy (ignore) list. Chow.
Nice job, looks great. Remember that your ram travel will exceed the modified increased foot height. Hence, you'll bend the new foot if you're not careful. Been there done that.
Those horizontal wings have been cut off. Too much twisting for the design to deal with, even with the beefed up...
Best advice I can give you Dalmation90 is to put said spider monkey on the ignore list. If enough people do that, he'll just fade away like a mild case of the shitz. He thrives on attention in order to feed his narcissistic personality.
Sorry I didn't get any pics of the Tigercat Feller Buncher L870C in action. 100K+ BF of timber taken out. Lots of biomass for a local power station too.
Skidder is just about done his work. Delivering firewood to my buddy's back yard. There was two of these going full bore to keep up with...
