    Firewood helmet

I have the regular ear muff style but really need the mesh face shield

    Firewood helmet

I was looking for am/fm. Since I do firewood and some carving by myself, it would be nice to hear some form of entertainment.

    Firewood helmet

Years ago I saw a helmet/earmuff/face shield combo but the hearing protection had a built in radio. Can't find it anywhere. Anyone know of something like this?

Anyone use a small electric log splitter for making kindling?

My timberwolf multi head leaves me with enough trash pieces that I have been keeping 2 neighbors supplied with kindling as well.

2 inserts or go with an outdoor boiler?

Recently relocated to a new house that has oil heat and hot water. Not really thrilled about the furnace set up but the house has a fireplace on the main level and provisions for a free standing wood burner down in the basement. The fireplace will be nice to look at but terribly inefficient...

Tell me your thoughts on this deal

What Sandhill said +1. That's why mine has been permanently affixed, braced, and modified. Start shopping now as you will soon be in desperate need of a conveyor. Just like the auto cycle, there is life before a conveyor and life after! The 6 way does make a mess of things....mine never does...

    Husqvarna 372 bearings

Long story...short version. Need to replace a case half on a 372. Got a parts saw for cheap since it had a frozen crank and scored piston/cylinder. My question is when I replace the bearings and seals, do the seals go on from the outside after I press in the bearings?

    Mini skid steer screw splitter

In a pinch yes. That's what I do. I'm trying to increase my efficiency

    Mini skid steer screw splitter

Having some trouble moving the really big rounds. I can get them in the grapple bucket but often they get stuck. I was wondering if anyone had built a screw type splitter out of a post hole auger. My thinking is use this to quarter then lift onto my main splitter. Thoughts are appreciated!

It burns better than a snowball will. So if you have it already, send it!

    Pine is for suckas!

Well, just for science sake, I conducted a little experiment. After hurricane Sandy I had a ton of spruce and white pine to deal with. I figured we'll dry it out and burn it to see what happens. Got everything split and stacked on pallets for at least a year of dry time since my property...

    prince valve help needed

Something that can be rebuilt or should I start shopping for a replacement?

    prince valve help needed

I got a tw-6 that has been leaking for a while and now spews fluid out of the back of the auto return valve. Tightened the allen head bolts and that seemed to help but did not totally stem the tide. Given the dirty location I didn't want to tear it open. Is there an internal o-ring or some...

    Firewood storage for newbie

The tarp on top will probably trap some moisture and facilitate rot. The wood isn't going to absorb any appreciable amount of water from getting rained on. I'll tarp my stacks in the winter just to keep snow and ice off them....guess I need to start thinking about a shed!

Trying to get into the wood splitting business

Tomtrees, how much can you pick up with that grapple? I have the bucket style on my mini and was wondering if there was any appreciable difference in the two styles. I use mine for logs and boulders.

    work stoppage

Not out, but certainly, production is down. Unbeknownst to me the 4 way wedge had developed some stress cracks. I put a slightly goofy piece of locust in, slapped the levers forward and went to get the next chunk. Well, the 4 way slid almost all the way up and off the main wedge, and got...

    Wanting to start selling firewood

I have quite a few customers that knowingly buy green wood. They'd rather get it cheaper and watch it dry out. That's fine by me as I don't have to touch it 3 extra times. Been doing it for 6 years and I've sold out every year. Each year a little bigger than the last. Haven't advertised on...

How much juice would a small conveyor need?

The main problem I see with the "fill a tray and hoist" method is splits don't like to flow like sand. Now if you could set up in an area that had a grade to it or tiers/terraces.....

Need help selecting a weed trimmer....

Bought my echo 260 3 years ago. Abuse it regularly and the only maintenance I've had to do is fuel and air filters.
