I had exactly the same thing happen on a PL-4A. I monkeyed with it for a bit. 1 pump then nothing!??? Let it sit over night then bingo, all was good. I have no explanation.

I got an answer...........there is no stock belt in those dimensions :(, BUT, they can have a lot made. The minimun quantity would be 25 belts. Guess I pose the question, Is anyone interested in a new belt for an OMG Mall saw? I do not have an OMG, but might have a lead on one without a belt...

I should have some new bearings and seals for a PL-5 I'm restoring here by the weekend( I hope). I'll cross check the numbers with a PL-55 and post them up. There were easy to find at my local bearing supply shop(Motion Industries).

Thanks Chris. I had an original and was trying to get Carl a copy. Anyone have a source for an OMG gilmer belt. It's the drive belt. As far as I can tell, looking for 1" x 20" 3/8pitch.

Is this a closed port 55.......Now repaired Piston cut and photos added

Did you find the cause of why it "went lean"? New piston/rings or cylinder won't last if that problem persists.

I was watching that saw too.......;) 15 bids to get to $41.........seems that there is some interest. I'll wager it jumps in $$$ in the last 3min. It looks like a good original unit.

I think, after some relentless searching, I may have found a supplier. Hastings seems to list a ring that will fit. I'll call them on Monday. If it does work I'll post up the part number here for future reference. I'm sure the old rings would be fine, just want to go new, as it is a major...

What do you mean about the ring "land"? Carl and I have been talking in PM's about a source for new rings for a 754. If anyone has any ideas please post up. I need rings that are 52.3mm x 1.6mm (2.06 x .063"). I have tried the "Greek", but anything over 52mm dia, the rings are min 0.079" thick...

Is it "steel" "still" or "stile"

Steel is the correct pronouciation, but north American slang(read laziness here), became much more prominent. so it became still........... As in: Still the best Still running Still my favorite Still popular Now that I have thoughly kicked the hornets nest...

Any Love for an old Clinton D35 "Chief"?

Poge, I have a rebadged Clinton D-50. It's a cool ol' gal and yeah, pretty loud. Just my opinion, but don't think he's going to get 2 bills for it. Here's a vid of it taken a few years back: It's a shelf queen, not much compression.

Morning Carl, I looked at the greek on the bay. Looks like he sells caber rings. I'm sure I read that Jerry had got rings from him and was happy with the quality. I'll get the thickness measured. Does dept come into play? I know you need dia + thickness, but not depth(or is width a better word?)

Just wondering if anyone has info on the auger.......how much oil goes in the case/ what type of oil? I was thinking of 90w gear oil, but thought...
