    Muffler mods and repainting, sorta

I just thought I would throw it out there for ya. You will find with the kit that you at Wally World they want you to oil it when your done with the bluing process. If this is the way you go, don't oil it with WD-40, it will actually remove the color that you just created.

I need help deciding on what saw

You have made the cardinal-sin around here, asking for an opinion. Be prepared! Now, out of the 3 saws you offered up, myself would lean toward the MS280 with a 18" bar.

    Muffler mods and repainting, sorta

Chemical bluing, or gun blue, is a chemical reaction that is actually a rusting process so heat will not affect the color of it so much. The problem with it is if there is any stainless alloy in the muffler the bluing will not take. Another method of getting the same affect without chemical is...

    Another dealer comment!

Be glad you have good dealers I wish I could say that the service I get from the local dealer was good. The Stihl dealer here is a rental shop and the people that work there are lucky if they can spell Stihl. I usually look up the part number I am after in my parts book and then make the trip...

    Avoid Stihls

Gologit, Thank-you for the welcome. I am neither thin-skinned or easily offended. I have found that there is indeed a wealth of knowledge here and a lot of ribbing between members. Just making a casual inquiry, that's all.

    Avoid Stihls

 Careful how you word your thoughts on people with a low post count. Just because I have a low post count should I assume that I am not worthy of the brotherhood? Or in general does that make me lesser in knowledge than thou with big numbers.

    Stihl electric saw... throwin'chips.

I had the opportunity to run an Husky 316 while taking out a cottonwood. I was half impressed with what it could do, although I'm going to rush out and trade anything in on one.

    Firewood saws

Firewood Saw Hopefully I don't alienate everyone from the start but sometimes it is best to cast your personal brand preference aside and just recommend a certain class of saw. The best saw for getting firewood is one that runs. There are too many other factors such as: how much? how big...
