When did you buy a processor?

The best business advice I ever got was- if you're selling out of product, raise your price. If you loose a few sales over price, but still sell out, where's the loss?

how many cord will a tw5 or tw6 splitter split in one hour

We do a cord in 1/2 hour using 1 guy cutting logs with a HudSon K-saw and 1 guy splitting with a TW6, 6-way wedge, 30' belt conveyor. I'm sure this will out-perform a "Super"splitter because the TW6 merely slices thru knots that don't split and doesn't care if its clear ash or twisted white elm...

    Honda engine trouble

And the winner is- actually a tie between Whitespider and Deerlakejens. The inline fuel filter had an invisible crack which was obviously worsening allowing the pump to suck air.

    Honda engine trouble

The pump was pumping, no electronics other that a fuel shut-off solenoid- which is working. I do dump a bottle of treatment into the bulk tank each delivery, and its the same gas I used for 3000hours on my previous TW with no issues:bang:. More guesses would be appreciated.

    Honda engine trouble

The GX610, 18hp V-Twin engine on my 'new' (800 hours) TW6 died if gas was < 1/2 full, then if < 3/4 full, and now will only run for 2 seconds if gas is dumped directly into the carb. I checked fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel cut-off solenoid, and fuel quality:confused2:. Anyone have...

    Firewood Sellers Survey

We sell 400 real cords/year using a TW6 and a HudSon LJH. Logs are delivered. The LJH has a "dead" deck and we have a 30' belt conveyor. I already had the TW6 and none of the big processor companies would build a machine without their splitter. I've noticed that alot of the pieces a big...

    conveyor

A conveyor rates right up there with a dump-bed, 6-way splitter wedge, and grapple-truck when it comes to work-saving machines. But for <10 cords, why bother? Why would you not stack your own 8-9 cords? Its the consensus here that piles never really season and often mold and rot in the middle.

    burning pine

I gritted my teeth as I clicked on this thread, expecting to find lots of 'tards spouting off on how "pine tar causes creosote":dizzy:. I love burning dry pine (I like fiddling with the fire anyway)- bright flame, very hot, smells good, leaves almost no ash.

    What do you do

If you REALLY want to make it easier, drop anywhere from $50K-$150K into some heavy steel equipment of the hydraulic variety:cry:

Huskee 35 Ton Log Splitter lube on beam?

This is exactly what we do, but we also grease. Any collected woody-debris isn't gonna wear the steel, and if there's sand, mud, or rocks- you've got bigger problems. If you think there's not enough friction between the ram and beam, then you've not split enough firewood.

    Maybe this should go

on the joke forum: I posted earlier about the local firewood dealers misspelling "cord"; and I'm sure you've all seen "winch" misspelled as "wench". Well.... I have my log trailer advertised for sale and got a call from a guy in KC and one of his questions was "does it have a penile hitch?" I...

    log jam

Its funny to see the suggestions to cut and split them by hand from guys who have no idea how overwhelming a 50 cord pile of large-diameter logs can be. Any solution is gonna involve lots of manpower, lots of $$$ for a big machine, or both. Good Luck. Maybe you could just sell them, as is &...
