    New guy in Maine

Welcome to A.S. you have a good start on fire wood. Here is some advice, if you think you will use 7-8 cords this year cut 9-10 so it all can get seasoning sooner. Then keep cutting for the following year and cut another 10 cord. It is always good to be 2 years ahead. Gives the oak and hickory...

    How 'wooding' should always be.

It is always nice to have a easy fell after you have had a couple more difficult fells just before. Beefie

    Short Sawbucks Anyone?

I would still like to see a saw buck built. It seams to me I would use the free sawbuck more and keep the 90 in my pocket for something else. Plus I like pictures, so lets see you build these in your shop. You would be amazed at all the short cutoffs I have stored away. They just keep coming in...

Building a firewood trailer? Need opinions

Since it is only a 5" frame build it to hold about 1.25-1.5 cord and get another trailer to put the rest on. Might take up more room with two trailers but don't need to use the heavy axles under a light weight frame. Another plus is you no 1/2 the wood would stay under roof until the other is...

Log Wagon / Trailer With Tractor

Congratulation's on your log trailer purchase. It is a very wise investment. I would still look into loading your tires and getting some of those really good tire chains. Weight=traction= stopping power. Cant wait to see your new firewood toy = I mean tool . Beefie

Building a firewood trailer? Need opinions

It seams like a good idea. I would add some bracing or it will do what everyone else has already mentioned. Keeping it off the tires and springs should make it last a long time. Let us no what you decide on. Beefie
