Questions about logging and/or clearing several acres on my land...

To the OP, Call your county ag or forestry department and get an inventory of what you have there. This will most likely be free and give you a value of your timber. With this info you can make the rest of your decisions. If you can't get a government forester out, then you may be able to...

    Falling Tall Ash Trees Uphill

Hey, I admit, that was a dumb question! The trouble with this tree is that the only piece of equipment we could get above it is a bulldozer because of the steep pitch. And I'm not sure if we'll have one on the driveway job. I have cut the rest of the area, but this is a 70' tall 16-18" ash...

    Falling Tall Ash Trees Uphill

Hello, I have been clearing a steep slope. I have 3 tall 18" dbh ash trees left to cut. I can't cut with the natural lean because the house is in the way. I need them to go uphill, opposite of their natural lean. Is there a good way to do this? Should I try a come-along...

Any Known Problems w/ Early 90's Crew Cab Trucks?

I like the 4 doors that are all big. I'm not a fan of the extended cab. i also like the 1980's early 90's models. I saw one the other day that someone had put the letters "HILLBILLY DELUXE" on the back window. 8' bed is also nice. :)

Harness/Ropes for Roof Repair (advice from a treeclimber)

You can walk on these roofs. You need to step at the bottom of this style tile. I have walked on lower pitched roofs with this style tile. They are a common roof in my area because there was a tile company here for years. I have allready spoken with a couple of local terracotta experts on...

Harness/Ropes for Roof Repair (advice from a treeclimber)

Here are some pictures of the house. A terracotta tile roof nearly 100 years old. It leaks in 5-6 spots and I want to patch the heck out of it. The chimney attachment does make me nervous. In fact I could perhaps fix the chimney when I'm up there!

Harness/Ropes for Roof Repair (advice from a treeclimber)

Proposed Roof Access: We started discussing this because I had contacted the tree service guy to hire him and his bucket truck to get me on the roof to do repairs. When he came over he said his truck couldn't get onto yard around the house and that I should consider buying a harness and...
