    Srt

I see your point. And that does work for sure. The short piece of 7\16 rope I use for foot loop is easy to store on bottom of hand ascender. The 3 to 1 back to the hand ascender 30 ft above works. I just use the hand ascender to re-ascend with. Easier on the hands. After a full week of...

rads keep it simple From the bottom of hand ascender a short piece of rope or a real foot loop. For one or both feet use in loop. I just put one foot on top of the other and use a single loop. This is a sit - stand style of rads. The foot locking u showed just makes a mess of a simple climb...

Most effeicent and least amout of sit back. Equals less energy lost thru day. Rope on rope is not efficient. Its hard to get away from rope on rope for most of us. We used it for years. Blakes hitch. We like the feel-touch. Never was a e-to-e prussic user. To much energy \ sit back lost. Lot of...

    lowering device question

port a wrap The metal port a wrap will not be the weak link. The hand line / bull rope will get worked hard. Also your attachment rope of the port a wrap to tree needs to be fairly stout. Your tree pic is of a ash tree by the way. Be safe.

staying hydrated Good info on hydration. If ya still have cramps in evening or in your sleep. Pickle juice will rehydrate ya much faster than Gatorade. Google or bing had shared a study on these two drink options. Guess how their study facts turned out. No dehydration = no leg cramps \...

    big (for me) maple dismantling...

Two piece trunk. Lower larger one useing other half. Use trees behind for final piece down. Or lay old tires for cushion fall as one. I have used small square bales for a cushioned fall zone. Use whats available.

    Leaning Tree

Most trees can be pulled (use two pull points in long dead trees) or use gin point in near by trees to lower. Dont mind these old farts with pms. Meaning old farts with way to much time on there hands. And check out the other tree websites.

Rigging Whole Trees with the GRCS - Presented by TreeStuff.com

The double tree rig system is great. If there are trees near to use. Usually just one tree close. Use whats available. In large removals and storm work the GRC shines. Which is time and money. I still see crews with no portawrap. Go figure! To each there own.

thoughts or opinions on pricing the removal of multiple trees?

1,500 to 1,800 this includes grinding. If your desperate for work go cheaper. With ivey 2,000 to 2,500 I don't need the work that bad. Follow how many hours it actually takes. My goal would be do 5 jobs for the price of 8 jobs. Not just money ahead. But less wear on crew and equiopment.

A piece of equipment can be dual purpose. Up north in snow country. Get what works well for that also. We use a small skid steer. Wheeled type. Around 1,000lb lift capacity. Grapple for brush. Pallet forks for logs. Bucket for grindings and dirt work. Can load skid steer on one ton flat bed...

Anyone have experience with companies that offer a dual service?

Tree insurance and roofing insurance will be separate policeys. Past x-amount of feet general insurance will not cover. Separate business cards will look more proffesional.

Best way to move your TIP in the tree

15 -20ft line advancement in tree. The throw line works slick on clearshots. Otherwise two or three poles with hook on end will do. Cut line advancement time by half in not so easy trees. So people ask where to hang pole when not in use. Tree when possible or on retreive line in SRT mode. Poles...

Ascending Question. Getting a new set up

The ascending with less effort. The least amount of equipment. The least amount of sit back for energy input. Some items can fry your ropes. Others are much more rope friendly. Until you try the different climb style. Prussic or mechanical? You will never know. This site has great input on the...
