Anyone know what year stihl went from a 044 to the MS440? I'm trying to identify what year my 440 is. It must be one of the first year 440's because it doesn't have a decompression button.

The stihl dealer didnt even offer the Elasto so he sold me some bulk stuff. Is it better to use the Elasto starter rope? What are most of you guy using, and why do mine break too soon?

I have a broken starter rope on my Stihl 046. How many inches do I need for the replacement rope? is it the same for the 044, and 066? thanks for your help.

I have an older 066 (red light). I remember reading that they came with two different brake handles depending on if they had the full wrap handle. Is this a fact? If so, does anyone know the part number of the brake handle that's compatable with the full wrap?

didnt know there were 2 different brake handles. I will need the brake handle for the full wrap.
